Steve Irwin Dead

Post by WAY »

News.com.au is reporting that Steve Irwin was killed in a freak accident while filming one of his well known documentaries. Surprisingly it wasn't a crocodile, it was a sting-ray.

this is indeed sad news. he seemed like a real cool and friendly guy. i've seen him on TV from time to time and he amazed me with his antics with dangerous and poisonous creatures.

may he rest in peace.

From the little bit that I've read on the Wiki about them, Stingray's are usually not that aggressive...It says that they rarely attack, but that if you're hit in the right spot w/that stinger, you will go down instantly...From all that I've read so far, this is must have been what happened, a money shot to an artery...

All you have to do is nick one of the arterial linings and it is all done from there. Sad news though... I really liked his shows and adventures.

He caught the spine thru the chest wall and directly into the heart killing him instantly. I know a lot of people enjoyed watching him; I personally couldn't stand it. I never wished him ill (except when he was feeding that croc holding his baby... social services should've had his butt in a sling), but like a famous philosopher once said, "Stupid is as stupid does." It was a matter of time the way he took risks. You don't fuck around with wild animals the way he did and NOT pay the price some time.

I didn't think his death would be caused by any sort of animal...
