THIS is why I'm on tenderhooks today.................I woke up this morning and as I was washing up breakfast my sister told me the news. She just couldn't look at the newsstory anymore...

I think this is SHOCKING!!!!!! /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> how the fuck can he die so damn quick??!!!?? That frightens me alot!

he didn't even get a last word, just BOOM! straight in the heart by that fucken stingray.

I've been 2 feet away from those bastards, barefoot too mind you.

Why the bloody hell wasn't he wearing a proper stinger suit? Man they should have chainmail or something! You don't go prancing about without any head or chest protection! With a croc- well they can snap ya in half no matter where they bite...but for fucks sake! why couldn't he have been more careful!!!!????

I've always liked Steve Irwin. Sometimes he appears a little silly, but I know that's his nature. Alot of overseas folks who've only seen him on his Crocodile Hunter tv shows, thinks it's a put-on. Nup, that's how he talks. I remember years ago when the local council wanted to shoot all the crocs in the Johnstone River- I remember clear as day him there saying that "If you miss once, it'll get 10 times worse"- ie. it's not a good idea to shoot the crocs, too tricky.
He cracked me up when he was on the Footy Show once, they did a skit with him doing his crazy stuff, and Fatty Vautin with a blonde mop in his head and hands flicked out to the side impersonating him! :rotfl: And Peter Sterling had some silly fringey long wig doing some half-arsed American accent portraying his wife!

Man that was funny! Then after the skit Steve took a dive into a plastic wading pool to wrestle a toy croc- on the actual show set! hahahaha!!!!! :rotfl:

It's not just the dying that scares me, but that I could die so quick..... :shock: I hate it when people die so quickly, it's just wrong, it's pathetic, it's ludicrous, you feel like it hasn't ended yet, it's still hanging there :hang: .....waiting........... /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I heard about this when I woke up this morning. Definitely is very sad news. My prayers are with his family

if all men were so adherent to their passions as he, we would be the most noble, albeit short lived race in the universe.

His crew always said if he went, it would be in the deep, because he was too fast on land.

I knew alot of people who got this close to nature.

but you know what is rare about him,.. he got a kill shot to the heart from the creature he was trying to show was not worthy of its terrible reputation,.. and there is an irony there. but you know he didn't ever blame an animal that tried to snap at him, sting or bite. he was destined to give himself to nature's living hazards, because that is what he gave his life to even before his death. you could see he was in love with notion of dancing so closely to the deadly laws of nature that pervade the coldblooded kingdom.

in memory of a true adventurer... a Fool of the highest Order.

at least he was able to go doing what he loved and did not get hit by a bus crossing the street or the victim of some violent crime.

it was so awful hearing this news...our neighbor came over and we were all talking about it...

I never really liked the way steve always acted so careless with his animals, but no one deserves to go like that...at least he died doing something he loved...

He always did acknowledge that he was in their teritory, but you know he knew a lot about animals, adn he took calculated risks. We all do that, in one form or another. He was passionate with what he did and I admire that. I wish his family the best. That is the sad part to me.

You know... I've always had a theory about NOT going where other people are TRYING to escape from or leave. My wife wanted to go on vacation to Columbia once... I said "Fuck no! 1) Already been there and got into a.... fight. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> And 2) People put themselves on a fucking cardboard box and just shove off into the ocean hoping to land somewhere...ANYWHERE... other than Columbia.

Now, I learned that you should never towards any dangerous animal. Never test them because their only way of responding is by killing you. They are like babies... they know how to hit, bite, scream, etc., not talk and explain themselves. However, I loved watching his shows and the accent was AWESOME!!!

Even Steve Irwin said this is how he would go (though he didn't point out it would be a stingray in the ocean with poisoned bard to the left aorta, and when it happened he wanted it to be on film. and he wanted it shown.
