Guys, how would I be able to change just my desktop icons into 16x16?
I saw this pic and I wanted to change my desktop icons like that (essentially into a list) as it would save me a lot of space and it looks neater to me - just the desktop icons though.
How can I do this? And is there a downside to doing this?
How to change size of desktops icons?

thaT SS looks like they are using a third party program to customize the appearance of numerous parts of the windows GUI. find out which program it is and you have your answer.
to manually do this, all you would have to do is make shortcuts to the things you want on your desktop, then customize those shortcuts by right clicking it and choosing properties and then choosing an icon that only has a 16x16 size stored in it. the text to the side part might be a registry hack or a 3rd party app as previously mentioned.
a better option in my opinion, is making a folder for all your shortcuts and then making a new toolbar that displays the contents for that folder.

QUOTE(who.am.i)I don't think that's possible on ANY operating system, my friend..
Doing what I suggested, my icons sizes changed...I put them on 64 and they were big, on 16 and they were small...If push comes to shove, I KNOW you can do it with microangelo, an icon management program...Did you try it slo..?

those changes are system wide though aren't they? Who would want to squint at those tiny ass icons all over the place? at 16x16 you can barely tell what the icon is supposed to represent when ya get a bunch of em together because they all start to look the same

I always have a Windows Explorer window open, so creating my own toolbar with dropdown menus with all my shortcuts works well for me.
