Chief's Green Likely To Miss Two Games

A source close to Trent Green told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that the Chiefs quarterback will likely miss at least the team's next two games due to a concussion.

A CT scan and MRI were both negative, but Green remains hospitalized. Green likely will be released on Tuesday.

Green sustained a "very, very severe concussion" when his head was slammed into the ground by Cincinnati's Robert Geathers.

"He's feeling much better," Chiefs president Carl Peterson said Monday. "But he has a very king-sized headache. Hopefully he'll be able to go home tomorrow."

The two-time Pro bowl quarterback will be listed as questionable this week at Denver. Peterson said he didn't know when Green might return.

I just saw this now... how the hell is Denver down 6-3 right now if KC doesn't even have their starting QB? It's official. Denver = flop this year.

Eagle's Kearse Out Indefinitely With Severe Knee Injury

PHILADELPHIA, PA --Jevon Kearse could be sidelined indefinitely with a "severe" knee injury the star defensive end sustained in Philadelphia's overtime loss to the Giants on Sunday.

Kearse, who had 2†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚½ sacks in the game, was injured when his leg knocked against Mike Patterson while the two brought down Eli Manning on New York's first possession of the extra period. Kearse reached for his left knee immediately after the play, was helped off the field and carted to the locker room.

He had an MRI exam on Monday, and coach Andy Reid said the severity of the injury still was being evaluated.

"It's severe. I don't have a time or length," Reid said. "We'll have to see how bad it is exactly. I'll let you know later."

Kearse's injury should give former first-round pick Jerome McDougle an opportunity to play after he was inactive the first two games. Backup ends Trent Cole (four) and Juqua Thomas (two) have combined for six sacks while getting plenty of playing time in defensive coordinator Jim Johnson's eight-man line rotation.

Jevon Kearse will miss the 2006 season with sprains to his MCL, LCL, and PCL

Kearse had 2.5 sacks before suffering the injury Monday. It's a massive loss for an emerging Eagles defense, although they are a rare team that has depth on the defensive line. Look for Trent Cole, who already has four sacks, to start opposite Darren Howard.

Clarett agrees to plea deal, will serve at least 3†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚½ years

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Former Ohio State football star Maurice Clarett agreed Monday to plead guilty to aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon. The deal would send him to prison for at least 3†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚½ years and end two criminal cases against him.

The agreement was announced by Judge David Fais on the day jury selection was to begin in a case in which Clarett is accused of holding up two people outside a bar.

The concealed weapon charge was from his August arrest after a highway chase with police who found four loaded guns in Clarett's sport utility vehicle after they spiked the tires. Police used pepper spray to subdue and handcuff Clarett, who was wearing a bulletproof vest.

The deal called for a 7†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚½-year sentence with release possible after 3†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚½ years. The 22-year-old player also agreed to serve five years of probation after the prison sentence.

Clarett said he understood he was pleading guilty and reversing his earlier innocent plea.

"I'd like to apologize for my behavior, and I accept the time that was given to me,'' he said.

After the deal was announced, he looked over at his mother who was sobbing and holding his 8-week-old daughter while sitting next to his girlfriend.

I'll hang off the tailgate and piggy back someone else. Fuck him. That jackass did it to himself. Nothing like seeing some fucking numbnut come up from the ghetto, ONLY to go Ray Caruth and take his ass right back to the place he never wanted to be. Now, he gets to play the real life role of "Tobias Beacher". :doggystyle: :luv:

Chargers To Send Draft Pick To Titans For QB Volek

The San Diego Chargers have agreed to send an undisclosed draft pick to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for quarterback Billy Volek, ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting.

ESPN.com's John Clayton reported that the Chargers had offered a sixth-round choice; the Titans were asking for a fifth-rounder in exchange for Volek. The two teams had been discussing a trade for a couple weeks until both agreed to wait until after Sunday's matchup between the teams because the Titans didn't want to move Volek to a team they were playing two weeks into the season.

Complicating the negotiations was a no-trade clause in Volek's contract. Though Volek asked to be traded after being demoted to third string, he controls where he would go and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has to be involved in any trade discussion due to the clause.

The Chargers have only two quarterbacks on their roster -- starter Philip Rivers and rookie Charlie Whitehurst. They would like to add an experienced backup and keep three quarterbacks on the roster.

President Bush Visits Bucs Practice

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- It seems like everyone
has some advice these days for the winless Tampa Bay
Buccaneers and struggling quarterback Chris Simms.

Even President Bush tossed the football with the former

some advice.
