I agree. 5 games is far to little for the infraction. Gurode needed stitches above and below his eye. 5 games for a potentially career ending injury? I wonder if they would have given him more if Gurode lost his eye?

Does anybody remember the story when he was at Univ. of Tennessee? He got into a fight with a teammate during practice one day, got kicked out of practice, and then came back about 15 or 20 minutes later with a big pole to beat the guy up?!?!?! Phil Fulmer and his big head stopped him somehow, and then suspended him for 1/2 a game! And one of the quotes from Haynesworth's apology was, "This isn't in my nature..." Yeah, right Albert.

Contrite Titan Haynesworth sorry for kicking opponent
Nashville, TN (AP) -- Tennessee defensive tackle
Albert Haynesworth was ejected early in the third quarter
Sunday after he kicked Dallas center Andre Gurode in
the face. Now the tackle expects to be punished and knows
he deserves it.
"What I did out there was disgusting," Haynesworth said.
"It doesn't matter what the league does to me. The way I feel
right now, you just can't describe it."

That IS bad, very bad.
But honestly, I reckon this is more disgusting.....

yall do realize 5 games...with 4 already played is more than a 3rd of the remaining season?
I think the punishment is just right.
Anyone else tickled by the fact that they're considering charging someone with assualt for something that happened on the football field?
Theres like 10 instances of assault on every single play lol.

But this is different than normal "assault" on the field. This was blatant and totally unnecessary. His season should be over

Lol...Apparently nobody here has ever competed at a sport at a high enough level to understand that you can "lose it" occasionally...this is his job, and he gets paid a lot of money to do it...Of course he is gonna take it very seriously...He made a mistake, he admitted it...As long as it doesn't continue, 5 games is fine to me..
