Yes this could be a pm...But somebody else may be wondering about how this works...

Why the hell does it say I am member number 1000 and somethin...?

I was like one of the first 10 at the original invision site, before the whole ayhja.com dynasty was set up...?

Why am I so low now? /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

That is a little curious... we only have about 1,300 members on the site, yet I'm listed as 7,000 and something...

Someone musta went on a pruning spree... lol

Well im guessing it has something to do with the site going down on us and the database being messed up a little bit.

With the kramer thing its probably because when you assign a new memeber a new member no its normally the last member no + 1 and since there have been membership deletion those member numbers dont actually get new members assigned to them which is why the member count and member no are different.

thats my opinion anyway.

Well in a nutshell, the numbers will eventually be reassigned by your join date...

What happened, was that when the first version of AF (then called ADN) crashed, we had to move the forums...But, they were so fucked, we could only move the posts, topics, users, and forums...In trying to do that, the forum recreated its self a few times..

So, once we settled down, people were joining left and right...We were getting about 200 hits a day or so, but mostly they were lurkers, and so I pruned them...The prunes created gaps in the membership, once we became ADC, the main point was not having to reregister...

So, we avoided that by this script WAI made, which failed to keep the original member ID...You guys might remember that early on, when the site was on that grey skin, we had to reregister...So, when the time came, we merged the DB's, and couldn't keep the user ID's, because they were different...

All in all, I'm not sure how many user's we've actually had register, but I know for a fact we crossed 1K within 6 months of the site being open on ADN, so...What's left now is all there is from the many prunes and DB rollovers...

That will be one of the things we fix on AF2 as time permits...

Im with you 100% Aemeth....I even remember that I was memeber number 6....and when Ayhja wanted to be number 7....it made me seem as though I joined even before the creator lol....

People tend to know we're OG just based on our color....but I also liked having that little number to let people know for sure....

But then again...we have OG now that haven't even been here that long...Kramer...MD.....and others who I don't have time to recall.........so it really goes to show that cafetaos is a good enough indicator until they can sort this out......it definitely shouldn't be a set priority.

... or maybe that number is the result of the the original member number multipied the number of times we had to re-register
