Very intersting ranking that he did. Here is some of the top players and then the link will be at the bottom of the page. This could start an awesome discussion.

1. Lebron James
2 .Kobe Bryant
3. Dirk Nowitzki
4. Amare Stoudemire
5. Dwayne Wade
6. Kevin Garnett
7. Chris Paul
8. Pau Gasol
9. Gilbert Arenas
10. Allen Iverson

Um...holy fuck how flawed is that list?

Any list that Chris Paul ranks higher than Paul Pierce (who had an incredible year last year)...or Shaq higher than Tim Duncan has absolutely no validity in my opinion.

I agree. There are many things that I disagree with when it comes to that list but I think it's interesting. I wish I was an Insider so I could see some of the reasons behind his decisions but like I said, it could be worth discussing

Yeah. I like how they have a guy who hasn't played basketball in a year ranked much higher than a guy who just won back-to-back MVPs.

I'm sure Stoudemire is a good player, but considering he's played maybe half a dozen games in the last year, I think he needs to prove himself again, and he shouldn't be placed ahead of guys like Nash, Duncan, Pierce etc...

I stopped at the Lebron over Kobe and D Wade tip...

I'd say, good list, bad order...

I don't agree with most of the rankings either but I did think it was interesting.

He did this based on his Player Efficiency Rating. Here is something that I found that he wrote about PER:

"The Player Efficiency Rating (PER) is a rating of a player's per-minute productivity.

To generate it, I created formulas -- which I've outlined in tortuous detail in "Pro Basketball Forecast" -- that return a value for each of a player's accomplishments. That includes positive accomplishments, such as field goals, free throws, 3-pointers, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals, and negative ones, such as missed shots, turnovers and personal fouls.

Two important things to remember about PER is that it's per-minute and pace-adjusted. It's a per-minute measure because that allows us to compare, say, Drew Gooden to Donyell Marshall, even though there is a wide disparity in the minutes they played. I also adjust each player's rating for his team's pace, so that players on a slow-paced team like Indiana aren't penalized just because their team's games have fewer possessions than those of a fast-paced team such as Phoenix."

I read that...and found it to be inconclusive...and since I'm not an Insider....I was just like "fuck this list"

Yall know I love Kobe....but as far as efficieny imma have to say Lebron tops that list....

He's a triple double threat every single night....and if he falls short...he's getting 30-8-8 a game....

I dont think he's better than Kobe....but as far as sheer numbers are concerned...I don't have a problem with him toping the list.

edit: good ass post though.
