Wade concerned with new tech policy

QUOTEIt didn't take long for Dwyane Wade to realize the NBA is serious about enforcing its no-complaining policy.

Wade drew a technical foul for arguing a call in the Miami Heat's season-opening loss to the Chicago Bulls, then watched his good friend Carmelo Anthony get ejected Thursday from Denver's game against the Los Angeles Clippers -- a game the Nuggets lost by a point.

While Wade understands the league's reasoning, the policy still worries him.

"It's not anything new like a dress code, when you can make a couple calls and get some suits," Wade said. "It's something that really goes with the way that you play. And it's going to make a big difference this year. You're going to see a lot more techs and see a lot more people getting thrown out."

I hope I'm not alone when I say David Stern should be fired!

This rule is so stupid! The players can't even express their feelings without getting a tech. So lame....
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

Soren Kierkegaard

LG obviously has been hollowed out, and a new LG, lets call him the 'SS Model' is in his place...

Stern just put the refs on a pedastal, and I don't recall ever seen any former NBA players that are now refs...Stern just put refs in a position to get fucked up after the game if you ask me...

They DO make bad calls, and unless they gonna get fired and fined in public for doing this, then this is an even worse rule than the dress code thing...

I never said I agreed with the rule..... I'm simply stating that David Stern definitely does not deserve to get fired...and it's ridiculous that you're calling for his head....

I don't think the rule will affect the casual fan at all......and he's basically just saying "you're getting paid big bucks to be on television and perform....and you're all grown men.....cut all that whining shit out and play with some damn self respect"

I don't agree or disagree whole heartedly one way or the other....

and "ss model" ?

Oh, I don't want him to be fired, but to me, this is another attempt to have some sort of ridiculous censorship over athletes, in a sport, that probably more than any other, has the passion on showcase with the rest of it....I agree that the refs need to be respected, but it does in fact need to be both sides...When they make fucked up calls, lets see how many times we hear about them being fined...

I doubt we hear any...

What we might see, is a ref get knocked the fuck out like that one in South America, lol...

I don't know of one serial whiner in the NBA, who was this rule made for..? Where were the string of incidents last year of guys being beligerant to refs..? Where's the story, the action, the player, that brought this rule about..?

We have a bench clearing brawl, damn right we make a rule saying you leave the bench you get ejected...But a ref makes a bad call, and I'm not allowed to say something..? Show my distaste w/the call..? You seriously think this is a good rule, and more importantly a necessary one..?

Weve actually seen a lot of stuff wrong with this imo. Sheed got a tech just by experssing his his shock in that one call which led to him being ejected. He had a right to be angry. I was watching some opening games and seen other players doing the samthing, but not getting the same treatment. The rule erally kills the passion for the players in my opinion

You're still allowed to be passionate.....you just can't bitch about bad calls....play the game.

I know if I'm coaching...I already make a rule within my team to not bitch to the refs.....you can't control how they call the game...you only can control how you play it.

And Rasheed Wallace would be that player that brought this about.....he's ridiculous sometimes...and I'm a fan of him.
