Quebec bar owners take smoking ban to court
I completely agree that smoking in restaurants and public buildings should be banned. However, why are bars also being affected? I don't understand that. It's a bar. People aren't going there to get healthy. lol
I'm not sure if Ontario has a similar law, but I know both Windsor and London have similar laws, which I think is ridiculous because you can't even smoke in Casino Windsor.

I have said this time and time again.
Just as a city ordinance is required to tell a consumer that alchohol is part of the experience at an establishment... so should a certain number of licenses be issued for those bars and resturants that WISH to have smoking part of their customer's experience.
Let the market dictate the neccesary number of licenses. Otherwise, I am fine with non-smoking.
bt i am not in Canada...

What's a bar/pub?
-> A public place (hence the term "pub") where people meet & have drinks together, etc.
Not all people want their lungs filled with carcinogens, tar, nicotine etc. Everyone has a right to have decent quality air to breathe to sustain their life.
If these establishments wish to have smoking allowes in them, why don't they provide giant hashish pipes so the customers can indulge their lungs and suck down as hard & as much as they like?
Rather than pass all that smoke onto people that don't want that shit in their body? Hey?
I'm so glad that smoking has been entirely banned from all public places in Australia. What a relief!
