Pakistan cracks down on gang rape

Ok, women now no longer have to provide FOUR witnesses to prove they were raped.

... they only have to find three... and even worse

under the new laws, consensual extramarital sex will ony carry a fine of 165 dollars and up to five years in prison, not the death penalty.

Yea, what the hell is this about. They should be able to gang rape women with just 3 witnesses. Also, you gonna have sex outside of marriage? You should be stoned to death!

hmm... seems like a sneer at me, since I mentioned these exact same words only this week.

well. even though I can not agree with gang rape and will learn my kids so, this story does not really make me change my opinion on that you should respect other cultures.

I mean, when some of these other cultures hear that we tolerate homo-sexuality, they go out of their heads as well. I hope that for them it is not a reason to start disrespecting us. Or do you raum think they should?

when they hear we curse using god's name, I hope that is not a reason for them to disrespect us.

but I might be all wrong here. Maybe I should learn my kids that they are superior. Maybe I should start strongly condemning the other cultures when news stories like this hit us. Maybe I should just indeed say that they are different and that they should be careful approaching these strange creatures. Who knows?! I could tell them they are savages... sounds familiar though. Hey... I could call my bloodline "Aryan" or something.

Or maybe you should just realize that regardless of culture, being raped sucks, being gang raped sucks worse, and that having a gov't that doesn't feel that way is the ultimate in suckage..?

that's what I said: I will not teach "rape" to my kids, would I?!

but it still does not allow me to disrespect the culture or teach my kids to disrespect them.

again: there will be quite a few things "they" do not like about "our" culture. Scantily clad women for example. But I do hope that that will not be a reason for them to disrespect us. If they do, it is their problem more than mine: they can get all hyped up about it and suffer all kinds of stress-related diseases, while I am all calm. If they go to extremes and blow a bomb, I might be crippled by it and still I would not think it is my problem. THEY are misinterpreting things, while my conscience is all clear. - I would expect my government to do something about it though; and NO that expectation would not include war.

um, you are actually suggesting our disgust with their gang rape policy need to be considered in regards to their disgust with our right for women to wear (or not wear) what they like?

what i read here is:

they advocate gang rape of women, we do not.

we let women dress themselves, they do not.

so, I guess all cultures have to practice a little tolerance, huh?

yes raum. indeed. that is what examples are for, aren't they? A sole example serves to decide on things.

btw. I do not look at mind-numbing series like South Park; I can't imagine who Cartman is - although from how your reply sounds, he does not sound to be intelligent; much like somebody who takes examples as policy-makers does not; hey, you know what?! Brains, I really think you need to stop.

if you mention clothing choice as a example of their offense with our culture; compared to our offense with death sentence for extramarital sex... you are really off base.

i could give a damn what they don't like... people who look at rape as part of the culture are confused with what their culture is... THAT IS NOT CULTURAL TO PAKISTAN. IT IS IMPOSED BY ISLAMIC ELDERS. If it were part of the culture, it would be like "come to Pakistan, and see our museum of rape as punishment." We have Victoria's Secret,.. do they have Abu's Home of Gang Rape Accessories? no.

you miss the point. They don't ACCEPT rape. THEY HANG YOU FOR IT. They hang you for ANY extramarital sex. They kill the woman, by default. The only way she can escape death is by proving she was raped, not consensually having sex. The only proof she can have is testimony of four men. No physical examination, no women, FOUR MALE WITNESSES. But, the ISLAMIC ELDERS demand someone be put to death for extramarital sex, unless he is a male proven to have raped a woman... and then his sister or mother can be raped instead of him being put to death.

so, and follow this carefully:

MALE punishment for raping a woman. Having his wife, sister, or mother raped... of his death.

MALE punishment for consensual extra-marital sex. getting the woman he had sex with killed.

FEMALE punishment for being raped. Getting killed if she can't prove it was a rape by finding four male witnesses.

FEMALE punishment for extra-marital sex. Getting killed.

THAT IS THE CULTURE. and that is REALLY screwy, no matter what you are wearing.

How does that compare to them being offending by our social dress code?> DEATH AND RAPE compared to tan lines on naughty bits... yeah, I really think that makes some sense.
