and i stick to mine: he should go for cell / ps3.

make your own comparison: for a mere $600 there isn't better value for money you can get... hell. even the beast "Sony" is loosing money on your purchase...

unless you desperately want "Windows" of course. then I'd go by the other solutions...

Just generally, I've seen a vid of Fedora Core 5 boot on a PS3 - it's speedier than my Pentium 4 2.4GHz.. lol

yeah. seen that as well. since that is only two days after ps3's launch, it should be straightforward to do so. the guy is no linux expert - read it on kotaku.com; he's commented there.

but... at the moment no sound for example and the distro is not optimized for Cell. might be better to wait a month until YDL is here.

It turns out he won't be buying a new computer. He's decided to scrap the idea and cancel his Internet to save a little money.
