coying bootleg dvd?

ok, i know a dude who borrowed someone's Green Day DVD's. Not professional stuff, just camcorder footage on a dvd. Like when they were in highschool. or the 1991 Gilman show in Berkeley, Ca.

anyways, my laptop can write dvd's, but i don't have a program that can do it. can someone recommend or provide a link for them. preferably free

use anydvd to remove the copyright protection and clone dvd to copy the disc

search "anydvd rapidshare" and "clone dvd rapidshare" in google for links, i'll search them in my office if i have them here i'll up them.

He said its camcorder footage, nothing fancy needed, just make an .iso of the DVD with something like Nero, WinISO, or UltraISO, and copy it to your HDD...And then use that same program to burn it to a blank DVD...

I tried Nero, but it didn't work. Something about an IFO file or a BUP file, i think.

Any help is MUCH-O appreciated!

Rommie, first of all:
format of the source: video tape / digital video?
is it already digitalized? otherwise you must capture it first.
if you have to to digitalize it, i recommend you to use the format Mpeg Dvd Ntsc with the software of the capture device (tv capture).

once you digitalized it or if you already have it (digital camcorder in DV format perhups) you must convert the format to the dvd standard format (theres a tool in nero 7 called nero visio that will allow you to do this, plus making chapters, menus, etc) that's why i recommended to use the mpeg dvd ntsc codec cause it will take less time.

just some hints, if you give me more data about the source i'd could help you more accurately

BTW: the problem you have on nero is that you may have selected to burn a dvd-video and it prompts for the .ifo .bup and/or .vob files (the first two have the info of the video and the third is the video in DVDvideo format. you must convert your source into a dvd project.

Damn Fap, I really think you are overshooting...

He already has what I assume are homemade DVD's, and just needs to copy them...The easiest way would simply be to save the disc as an .iso image file, and then burn it...

then my first fucking reply is the apropiate, get yourself clone dvd and simply copy it, clone dvd is way better and safer than alcohol and nero for copying DVD.

Are you raising your voice at me wee man..? How the FUCK do you get copyright protection on a bootleg DVD..?

raum...Make the .iso file, and you'll be done as fast as your DVD drive can copy to your HDD and then burn it again...With the latest version of Nero, this is literally about a 4 click job...You put the disc in, and when quickstart comes up, just say you want to record an image file...Save the .iso somewhere on your PC, put in a blank DVD, and this time when the quickstart comes up, you just tell it you want to record an image file, which is the last option on the left...
