Comp freezing up

LMAO at raum.

I dont have that problem of my computer freezing up but even though raum is joking about it, it might be a good idea to back up your stuff and format your hard drive and just do from there.

There shouldn't be anything wrong with the HD though. I just got it replaced over the holidays...

Yeh, unless you're working on D:, it won't let you reformat C:, as Ja noted.. lol
Kramer, did you reinstall Windows when you got your hard drive replaced (well, did the guys from FutureShop tell you)?

If not, it might be time for the bi-yearly Windows refresh.

From what I know the reason that a computer would freeze that it would have stack overflow or there are proccesses running in the background that are using up too much of the proccessor and ram.

So what I suggest is that you install TuneUp Utilities 2007 ( http://www.ayhja.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=348&t=17547 ) and check out which proccesses are actually using up too much proccessor and ram and just try to end those proccesses and make them not start up when the computer starts up. Do it at one proccess at a time and then you might actually find the one that is causing the most problem.
