kramer, in 2006 in Iraq, around 100 died every single day, calculate for yourself (and look up the news stories if you think this is untrue).

That second link shows that estimates are difficult indeed. Truth will be somewhere in between uh?!

and raum: who mentioned anything about who killed them?! Indeed, most will not have died from bullets coming from American rifles shot by an American soldier. However, stating that YOUR intervenience saved lives is laughable.

How is it possible that you guys twist and turn only to rob sand in your eyes?!

Don't the North-American schools not teach you to think critically, I'd say...

Brains, what was the daily death rate in Iraq in the year 2000. Is 100 a large number, compared to before we went? Let's look and see:

2000-----------
Iraq Death Rate for 2000 was 6.4 per 1000. Population was 23 million.

MATH: (23000000/1000)*6.4/365 = 403.2877 deaths per day to be reported in the year 2000.

2005 *Used instead of 2006*
(Death rate has declined EVERY YEAR, including 2006, but pop numbers won't be avalable until July 2007)
-----------
Iraqi Death Rate for 2005 was 5.49 per 1000. Population was 28,807,000

MATH: (28807000/1000)*5.49/365 = 505.1096 deaths per day to be reported in the year 2005.

Let's figure out the percentages of iraqi citizens who died:

3593 total deaths for year 2000 is .02% of population base 23000000
5247 total deaths for year 2005 is .02% of population base 28807000

The percentage of Iraqi citizens is a floating weighted average of .02% mortality rate, even with a full blown five year war waged. There has been no change in the half a decade ensued.

That is the real news, my friend.

I am saying less are dying from the medical aid they are getting now, and the level of provision has really helped, as well. If we are not killing them, why again are we responsible? Cause we took down the psycho who scared the crazies from acting crazy?

raum. it is 100 a day because of violence alone.

add these to the 2005 / 2006 numbers and do the maths again.

The 5.49 death rate DOES include violent death rates. IT INCLUDES ALL DEATHS.
