iTunes is ok if you're using a Mac.
On Windows, it's pain in the ass.

Use this instead:
XPlay

When you install it you just drag and drop songs onto the iPod.

If you have songs already on your computer, you just need to drag the songs into iTunes. If you have them on CD, then put the CD into the drive and then open iTunes. You'll see the CD on the left hand side in the menu. Click on it and there will be a button that says import CD. Click that and you'll be good to go

Depends on what format you have the songs you have as well. Im not sure that itunes deals with wma files. It normally handles mp3 and some other file systems but because of the whole MS and Apple competition it doesnt normally like using that.

What you can do is go to itunes ---- to file ---- to add folder --- and just find the my music folder or where your music is stored and add it.

Hope this helps

I just use my new phone as an MP3 player. I've got about 100 songs on it and it's easy enough to change them out if/when I want to.

yeah, thanks a lopt everybody. Just one more thing i want to ask u, that is does anyone know a software that can help me totally control my files in the ipod, like i can manually remove, delete the unwanted files or examine all the files in my ipod ? Yesterday, when i connected my ipod and turned on itunes, i found that there are some unidentified files in my ipod. which are marked "others" by itunes. I couldnt figure out what they are, coz at the moment my ipod has only songs.

The "other" section would be for album art if you have that on your ipod and just some ipod software that's needed. It doesn't mean that you have extra stuff on there

Man, the people that I know that have ipods have all complained about that, which is another reason I chose to get a PSP...I don't have that music that I listen to that I can't change out songs when I want to hear something new...

500 of your favotie songs may take up 1.5 GB, which is more than enough music to me...

But to answer your ipod question, I think that WMP 11 does a good job of sync the files...
