A suicide bomber has killed three people in the southern Israeli resort of Eilat - one of the country's most popular tourist destinations.

The explosion hit the Lehamim bakery in a residential area at 0940 (0740 GMT), killing the owner and two employees.

Three Palestinian militant groups said they were behind the attack, saying the bomber was from Gaza but had entered the area via neighbouring Jordan.

It is the first suicide bombing in Israel since April 2006.

senseless...

Ok, the talk about "who are they supposed to target because the IDF military force is too strong"

that is crap: a BAKERY in a RESORT TOWN?

Look, these acts of desperation are NOT HELPING. They haven't helped the causes of Islam since Jimmy Carter (who had numbers in America and abroad FAR lower than George W. Bush) bowed over in the '70s.

If these people are so commited to die, let them throw themselves at the war machine of IDF.

not a bakery in the middle of a tourist city.

The people who stood in defiance in Tiananmen Square had no less a suicidal stance for no less a cause of recognition. But they didn't firebomb a Sandwich joint before going and standing in front of tanks.

That is the difference between martyrs and monsters.

senseless indeed.

but noteworthy how this is actually newsworthy, while the hundreds of civilians who have died by the the Israeli war machine in these last 9 months are almost forgotten.

that also is senseless.

This is so sad....I wish it would just end
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

I don't know if I'd call him a Commie, but he certainly is a little clueless. Obviously he was living on the moon when Kofi Anan accused Israel of intentionally bombing Qana...

Lessee, How the family of the suicide bomber feels... http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340 ... 19,00.html

Yup, they feel blessed that he bombed a bakery in protest of Palestinians killing each other and not fighting the "Zionist Enemy" Oh, and his name was Muhammad:

QUOTEThe whole family was very happy when it heard that Muhammad is the hero who carried out the attack," said Naim Saqsaq, the brother of Muhammad Saqsaq, who carried out the suicide attack in Eilat that killed three people.

BUT HE ACTUALLY FAILED. He went in the bakery when people started suspecting him. He just got the baker and his assisstants because well, if he couldn't get the right target, any target would do. Pathetic.

QUOTEAccording to initial police findings, the bomber had planned to blow himself up at another location but entered the bakery when a pedestrian suspected his behavior.

Two Palestinian groups, the Islamic Jihad and the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades - the military wing of President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah faction - claimed joint responsibility for the attack. However, Fatah spokesman Ahmad Abdul Rahman condemned the violence, saying, "We are against any operation that targets civilians, Israelis or Palestinians."

It might also be helpful to note that most of the Palestinians dying violent deaths in Palestine over the last nine months were from in-fighting from (suprise suprise) Muslim extremist factions. The Israeli war machine has been particularly non-lethal in comparison. Last estimate was 9 of about every 70 violent deaths in Palestine are not related to infighting between armed factions of Abbas and Haniyeh supporters.

The irony is neither man himself is popularizing these acts. It is simply evidence that no one is in control of the Chaos in Palestine, and even some Palestinians are saying Israel may be heavy handed, but it will take them attacking the Gaza to resolve the infighting. (Which of course will just add weight to the evidence that "Zionists r teh sux."

Sad, useless, and I hope some of the Palestinians left when this is all done are actually some of the ones dedicated to Peace with Israel.
