I don't think I've told all of you, but this week I will be moving to a new town, and a new house...Well, the town isn't new, its where I grew up, but you know what I mean...
Anywho, its a 3 br/3 bath, so we'll have alot more space than before...I will have an office downstairs that I want to be able to pimp out into a guest bedroom if need be...I don't suspect I'll have that much company, but if I do, I want them to be comfortable, but at the same time I want my office to seem like an office...
I can throw up some dimensions if necessary, but mostly I am hoping to find or come up with some themes... Maybe a few of you have wimmens that love to interior decorate, and can help me come up with something...
I'm wondering if I should turn it into a bedroom period, and just stuck a desk in there, I have no idea, really, except that's where my computer is gonna be, lol...

when you say office, you mean as in you will be seeing clients at home and have meetings with them in that room???
i know the different offices that i have been to, i always love it when they have a comfy couch to sit in and wait/chat.....
A couple of times at my old place i would sit with clients on the couch and we would have a meeting right there.....the clients didnt mind, they found it more relaxing and enjoyable....
maybe a sofa bed / futon may be a good place to start... though i dont know how comfy those things are but i have always wanted to try one out....

The Sofa Bed/Futon would be my suggestion as well. It lets your office be an office until your need it to be a bedroom. I am partial to wood myself. The wood desk, bookcase and file cabinet sets can be had at a decent price for a set. My personal office at home is still being redone, but it will have a map theme. I like maps, so the room will have some maps in frames and maybe a map border.

if you need a floor covering suggestion, I highly recommend BAMBOO wood floors. Hella tough, looks better than hardwood (imo), and is a much more quickly regrowing natural resource so you can feel good about doing your good deed for the day.
You might also want to look at some examples of rooms that do not have the same color on all 4 walls and see if you like that. I did up a couple rooms in my house that way and it helps "the flow" from one room to the next"
Also, make sure you have plenty of light, natural or otherwise...nothing says "loss of productivity" like a poorly lit home office after lunch.

I totally agree. That's a huge thing.
I agree with Highlander about the wood. Wood is really nice - especially dark wood if you can get it. It may be a little more expensive though. I haven't priced office furniture lately.
For decorations, I know that when I get an office, it's gonna be decked out with sports memorabilia. Putting photos on the wall, all of my autographed stuff which I'm already collecting will be in there. Game worn shoes (right now I have Brandon Roy's!) will be set up in there. Of course, sports are my passion so that's why I'm gonna do it that way.
Decorate it in such a way that you'll be able to stand being in there for a long period of time. Comfort is key

The house we have has hardwood floors throughout, so that's gonna rock...
I'm still not sure on theme, though...I am leaning towards a Clark Kent, Daily Planet type feel...I usually do not see customers in my office, it will be mainly, probably 97% personal use...
I'm not sure tho to go with an Asian feel, or a more modern feel, etc...I need to look at some sites with office furiture layouts and see if I can't come up with something sexy...If you guys know of a good site, let me know...

The place I would highly recommend is IKEA. They've got great stuff that's durable and will last you quite a while. Here's a link:
