I am disappointed, but not shocked...Of course, everyone is going to blame Grossman, but I think that was just a great game by the Colts...Their defense, which was their biggest liability all season, stood strong and really made the Bears one dimensional...
And the Bears dropping back into coverage constantly and getting raped underneath, and then failing to get to Peyton when they blitzed completely sealed the deal...Congrats to the Colts for playing a great game...

Yeah, your Bears got owned! lol The Colts D was amazing throughout the post-season. They really stepped it up when they had to.

The Colts defense was outstanding during this game. I really couldn't believe it. They were the first team to place last in rush defense during the regular season and still win the Super Bowl. That's impressive

When that opening kickoff went for a touchdown my first thought was, "somebody in Vegas just made ALOT of money." Seriously, I wonder what the odds were on that.
Colts defense was solid, but I also think weather was a factor (which SHOULD have helped the Bears). How else do you explain Adam "Mister Automatic" Vinatieri actually missing a field goal?
And yes, Rex Grossman is terrible. I don't think it's an over statement at this point. The guy just isn't very good. A very Trent Dilfer-ish SuperBowl QB, IMHO. His receivers make him look better than he actually is. I feel for Bear's fans.
Maybe Jimmy Mac should've come out for an encore!

Only the 1996 Super Bowl between Dallas and Pittsburgh, which had 94.1 million viewers, had a bigger audience, according to Nielsen Media Research on Monday. Behind that 1996 game and the M-A-S-H series finale, Sunday's game was the third most-watched program in television history.
The presence of one of the game's most popular players in Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and a major-market team from Chicago undoubtedly juiced the ratings.
It was the highest-rated Super Bowl game since St. Louis-Tennessee in 2000. The viewership is higher this year even though the ratings are lower than in 2000 because there are more homes now with television sets.
The Colts beat the Bears 29-17 in a game played during a driving rainstorm in Miami. It was shown on CBS, a division of CBS Corp.
Last year's Super Bowl between Pittsburgh and Seattle drew 90.7 million viewers.
Despite the huge audience, the Super Bowl didn't provide much of a jolt to the CBS drama "Criminal Minds," which was given the choice time slot following the game. "Criminal Minds" was seen by 26.2 million viewers. While that's the biggest audience the second-year show has ever delivered, it dwarfs the 38.1 million people who saw "Grey's Anatomy" after ABC's telecast of the game last year.
According to another measuring service, the most-watched moment of the CBS broadcast wasn't Peyton Manning's lone touchdown pass, the interception and touchdown run by Kelvin Hayden or even Prince's electrifying halftime show. It was the Bud Light ad featuring Carlos Mencia and a language class, according to Tivo.

I was disappointed with the Bears. I thought they did great then I was wrong. The Colts did play a great game. It's the first time in a long time since I watched the Super Bowl. Overall, I just don't think that it was a good game...
And I am usually a hard QB critic, but I just can't fault Grossman...Did you see how long the Bears defense was on the field..? That wasn't all Grossman guys...That was a complete and utter team loss...
Case and point...Peyton 'rather immobile' Manning wasn't sacked at all...Shit, he didn't even get his uniform dirty until about the early 4th quarter...How can you expect a QB to get into any kind of rhythm when he only had 6 snaps the whole half..?
The Bears consistently dropped back into coverage and got murdered underneath...When the Bears tried the same thing, the Colts Defense was everywhere....When Grossman got into the game in the 3rd Quarter, he was 8 for 11...He threw two picks, and yes they were poor decisions, but when the D is clicking like the Colts defense was, you can't expect much...
The run game of Chicago was stifled, and the play for both teams was rather sloppy...It just wasn't a good game to me, but that's not taking anything away from the Colts...Anyone who says that game was lost by Grossman doesn't know anything about football..
The halftime show, however, was fucking IMMACULATE..! Prince rocked that shit...!

I agree with you Ty. It really wasn't Grossman. This game was pretty much all on the defense. The Bears didn't play their normal D and the Colts stepped up their D so much in the playoffs.
