Long but very informative and well written article with no shortage of references to backup the statements made in this article. If you care at all about your rights to use your media where, when, how, and with what hardware you see fit, you should probably read this......

Thanks e - a very informative article..
If you can come up with stuff like this more often, then.. well, I'll be over the moon.. lol

Well worth the time it takes to read..
Plus it's under CC 2.5 Sharealike - freaking awesome..!!

Just thought I'd also point out, Vista isn't the only OS to feature Unnecessary CPU Resource Consumption, Linux does have this issue too (mainly the GUI's calling internal functions every x ticks, when it could be avoided, saving battery power, and CPU cycles).

Very true. I continue to use 2000 for some things. I'll have to look into the type issue. Must be able to download one somewhere.

I've searched high and low man...Give me two aspects of the XP interface, and I would switch back to 2K so damn fast..

But anyway, maybe I'm reading this shit too fast...But...

I don't see a SINGLE reason to install Vista....Did...I miss something..? Or is this really the absolute worst idea M$ has come up with almost ever..?

Despite Microsoft's infamous shittyness, I had an odd feeling that something was dodgy about Vista.

Man I'm worried about getting a laptop now. I was gonna order a Dell and just take the free pre-loading of Vista, but I'm glad now that I didn't go ahead with it. Thanks mate.
