Three 'Jeopardy' contestants end up tied
NEW YORK - All those years of answers and questions, and it's never happened before on "Jeopardy!" What is a three-way tie, Alex? The three contestants on the venerable game show all finished with $16,000 after each answering the final question correctly in the category, "Women of the 1930s," on Friday's show. They identified Bonnie Parker, of the famed Bonnie and Clyde crime duo, as a woman who, as a waitress, once served one of the men who shot her.
"We've had a lot of crazy things happen on `Jeopardy!' but in 23 years I've never seen anything like this before," host Alex Trebek said.
The show contacted a mathematician who calculated the odds of such a three-way tie happening ” one in 25 million.
The three contestants, Jamey Kirby of Gainesville, Fla.; Anders Martinson of Union City, Calif.; and Scott Weiss of Walkersville, Md; were all declared champions and taped a rematch that will air Monday.

The winner told the dude next to him the answer!
He was all like "THANK YOU!" loud as hell... nub.
It isn't all that hard.
Both guys had 8000 going in....and they wagered it all....doubled up.
and the winner bet just enough to get double what they had...
I still think the winner told the other guys....and thats not some conspiracy theory as to why they tied....
although he did look super happy to have tied...
YAY and gave them hugs and shit...
bitch gimmie dat money!

poor strategy on the part of the money leader going into the final question. why not wager at least $1 more than the max your oponents could get with a correct answer?

Actually, it's a very subtle winning strategy. If they keep this up, they can all stay on the show indefinitely. By working the final question so they all match and sharing the answer, they can guarantee that all of them come back for every show. I suspect that if it happens again, steps will be taken, but til then, it's an interesting idea.

Yeah...I'm almost positive that must have happened...because as was said...why wouldn't he wager at least a dollar more? and he was toooooo happy to split...

a conspiracy like that would need some serious planning to coordinate. First of all, they all have to be close enough at the end of the 2 rounds to even make it possible. Second, the amount of uncontrollable variables present during the 1st two rounds are a large hurdle to overcome; categories and each contestants knowledge of them would be the largest, they would each need to be capable of answering all questions correctly and be able to choose to do so or not depending on their dollar total. Second, they would need some form of being able to discreetly communicate at regular intervals during the course of the game. This would be very difficult to do without getting caught, especially considering the whole thing is being filmed. Third, in a scheme like this, no matter how well planned and executed, especially with three pretty intelligent people involved, someone is gonna think they are pulling more than there share of the load and start thinking they can do better on their own and blow the whole thing out of the water by deviating from the plan.
With all that being said, if it does come to light that this was done intentionally, it would not surprise me at all if there was a 4th person involved, perhaps even someone on the inside that could control the categories and maybe even which contestant's buzzer was live as each answer/question was executed. This would take the planning and coordination out from in front of the cameras and let the contestants worry about answering the questions and doing a little social engineering and acting during the rounds.
I do not watch much television, but I may have to tune in just to check this out. Which instantly brings up the possibility of another even larger consipiracy on the behalf of an aging game show franchise with declining viewer numbers in their target demographic and the associated drop off in advertising revenues.
