Science Daily -- A person has two hands, two legs, two eyes,
two cerebral hemispheres. But it is only at first sight that a human being
is a symmetric creature. Firstly, we have a leading hand, the right one
with the majority of people, secondly, we have a leading eye. Thirdly, the
brain is functionally asymmetric: the left hemisphere (with the right-handers)
is mainly connected with abstract-logical thinking and to a larger extent
with speech, the right hemisphere “ with image sensitivity.
Coming back to eyes, the right eye is the leading one among the two thirds of
people, and the left one among one third of people. Special tests have been
developed to determine this. Do these individual differences influence the visual
information perception process, for example, perception of texts, on the left and
on the right? Investigations carried out at the Institute of Cognitive Neurology
of the Modern University for the Humanities will help to answer this question

Weird, I've never thought about that, being more potent in one eye than the other, shit, I'm blind in both eyes...I wonder if it works the same with hearing as well...

to determine your dominant eye, hold both arms straight out and form a small triangle using the thumb and index finger of both hands. WITH BOTH EYES OPEN fixate on a distant object through the triangle. Now wink closed one eye, if the object is still there the open eye is your dominant eye, if not the eye you just closed is your dominant eye. If you cant wink, slowly bring your hands towards your face and keep the object in the opening. keep bringing your hands to your face until they touch your nose. The eye looking through the triangle is your dominant eye.
There is a loose correlation of about 85% between which hand you favor and dominant eye. IOW, if you are right handed, there is about an 85% chance you will be right eye dominant.
A insiders secret for the althletes among us. When defending in basketball, if you can get a hand up to obscure the view of your opponent's dominant eye their made shot percentage will drop faster than a load in the pants of a tweaker on his 5th day that just spotted the cops in his rear view mirror as he was going to score some more meth.

I'm right eyed. Any good marksman knows which eye is dominant. That is one of the first things you do when you go the range.

Well I'll be damned, it worked...I could still see the object in my right eye, but a good hunk of the object vanished w/my left eye...
Good tip on the hoops, I didn't figure you for a baller emanon, you're full of surprises...I put my hand in a defenders face anyway, but that's cause I am determined not to exhaust my energy playing D when the odds are already stacked in my favor that a player will hit less than 50% of his shots, lol...
