I'm glad to hear that he's seriously considering staying in college also. I think it's a good move for him specifically and for incoming freshman everywhere

No....he needs to go pro...and do it now..
His draft stock won't get any higher (the number 1 overall considering Oden has been on record as saying he's staying...) and I dont think he'd benefit all that much from stayin in college..theres even better trainers and people in the NBA to help him....
I'm glad he won this though...very deserving..

does this say anything about the talent level in the college game right now, or are these freshmen so good that they'd be up for this award regardless of who was playing at the collegiate level?

Well if players weren't able to jump to the NBA until after they graduated from college or 4 years removed from high school like it was before Spencer Haywood, then I would seriously doubt that a freshman would win the award. It would be some senior who was NBA ready and just couldn't go.
I understand the thrill of making money and going to the NBA, but I really wish that players would stay in college. The college game is so much better and it would improve the level of play. And I think it would actually improve the NBA game and make it more exciting also

I'm just not sure that the lure of money now would be enough to make me want to miss my college years, real talk...What's the rush..? It's not like he's going to be making LESS bank if he waits until the end of his sophmore or junior year to go...
Man, I loved my time in college...Best years of my life, easy...Some things just don't have a pricetag...
