Oh yeah, the really "smart" hero who doesn't take the fucking weapon from the guy he just aced. I mean, he keeps hitting them with rocks or something and leaves a machine gun just sitting there.

The really hot chick in disquise that they put in glasses and bad make-up early in the movie that nobody has any interest in. Later, after her make-over or whatever, she's a beauty queen.

The chick always has cancer and is going to die, but only after the fact that the guy falls in love with her and treats her like the royal princess that she deserved her whole life.

Add in a little ugly girl ends up pretty and some bad boy gone good and there ya have it.

Why did I waste my money?

happy endings... OMG the main charactwer was shot 20 times but lo and behold he survived. how nice.

the good guy that spares the bad guy but then the bad guys tries to kill him from behind and the good guy is forced/accidentally kills the bad guy...

Ten guys opening up with fully automatic machine guns on a single lone figure running away and still missing.

Syrupy, mushy endings to otherwise good films...(Steve Martin...major offender!!)

While the hero and villain square off, the heroine and villainess have a catfight of their own. Not that I mind it, but it's usually forced and ridiculous.

one of the newest cliches needs to get dealt with quick: Movie Trilogies That Stumble & Fall Off The Edge Of The Cliff By The 3rd Installment.
recent examples:
Spider-Man 3 - too many villains? too much relationshit drama? should Venom have had his own flick?
Pirates 3 - they should have stopped with the first one. as they went on,they got longer & shitter.
Shrek 3 - Ditto on stopping with one. the original was a fairy tale. it had a happy ending & the humour was kinda geared towards adults...
then they kiddied it up. SPLAT!
x-Men 3 - all fox had to do was wait for Bryan Singer to finish up Superman Returns & they would've had some gold in their hands.
butt nooooooo they gave that great series to the guy who royally botched Red Dragon & therefore destroyed the Hannibal Lecter trilogy.
Hannibal Lecter series - you do not give a movie like Red Dragon to the guy who does the Rush Hour films (much as i like them).
Terminator 3 - should have been a case of No James Cameron,No T3.
Star Bores Ep II - Lucas 1. waited too long to do the prequels. 2. he should have learned from his original trilogy that "his success" was a team effort & gotten some kickass editors (see Ep IV & V & compare them to the ewok-loving Jedi)
& last butt not least is the biggest cinematic misomer of all:
Blade:Trinity - Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn! i was hoping this comparitively inexpensive series was gonna take the trilogy crown...
...then they let a directorial virgin like Dave Goyer (partial screenwriter of the first 2 & the man responsible for the wack bits of Batman Begins) take over from the likes of Del Toro (Cronos,Pan's Labyrinth) & Norrington. this series couldve ended nicely (or continued) if an experienced person was at the helm. instead we got a Blade movie for the opening 15 min. after that Snipes was a cameo actor in The Nightstalkers Cheesefest (though i did think Biel was HOTT withr shoulders & frame all buffed).

There you have my tragic recap of WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN.
ok done now.

or ala Friday the 13th -- a virile 15yr runs thru the woods and cant outrun a 20 something halfdead, limping, 20 lb weapon carrying psycho killer

OR trips (while looking back) NEVER LOOK back keep the fuck running straight ahead !!!! till you drop dead from a heart attack......
