I know Earth Day has already passed, but I was wondering.........
What are you guys doing (if anything) to go green?
I watched the documentary by Al Gore, "An Inconvenient Truth". It shocked me and just made me sit in awe. I also seen a special on Oprah about different ways to go green and they also gave little tid bits about stuff you never would have thought of. I'll include the one that stuck with me.
When you have appliances plugged in even if they are in the off position, they consume 40% of the energy they would while on.
Plugging things in your kitchen up to a power strip and turning the strip off cuts down your electric bill. Also plugging your TV, DVD player, PS2, Xbox, etc. into a "smart strip" will make it so when you turn off your TV, all others turn off too.
I have plugged a bunch of power strips up and I bought a couple of CFL light bulbs. We will see.
Green is the new Red, White, and Blue.

It will save you money for real bones. Or just get a power strip. They are anywhere from $4-$19 at Wal Mart and they pay for themselves in the first month to first 3 months after you buy them. So kick ass!!

Al Gore uses 20 times the national average to power his Nashville masion, what are you doing to stop Global Warming?
Remember Al Gore claims he invented (or helped) the Internet plus uses an electric golf cart to get around his nashville mansion
Hes a Fucking hypocrite and Full o' shiite
As to the question
Turn unused lights off
Keep thermostat at 70 (except when its 110 degrees outside) and open windows
Fix leaky faucets (no drip, drip, drip)
When you brush your teeth, dont keep the water running
When you wash dishes, dont keep the water running
When u wash the car use a bucket of soapy water and a bucket of water, use hose only to rinse at the end
Plant trees, flowers, veggies - at home, at schools (a shaded A/C classroom cuts power use by 62%) plus the trees help recycle water (instead of running off into sewers, storm drains), mulch, mulch mulch, grow and eat your own veggies
Go solar

Hmm, I'm going to have to check into that bit about plugged up devices...Cause if you use a power strip...Doesn't the same thing apply, and therefor you would need to unplug the power strip too, and thus defeats the purpose..? LoL...
I'm trying to do some more sound things to save cash and such myself, and would love to see a list accumlate here of good things...

Actually no. You have to turn the nice little power button off on the power strip. lol Turn of SEVERAL things at once and they stay plugged in was the whole point.
