Damn, almost time for spring practice..!

Here's the Draft Order:

Oakland
Detroit
Cleveland
Tampa Bay
Arizona
Washington
Minnesota
Atlanta (from Houston)
Miami
Houston (from Atlanta)
San Francisco
Buffalo
St. Louis
Carolina
Pittsburgh
Green Bay
Jacksonville
Cincinnati
Tennessee
N.Y. Giants
Denver
Dallas
Kansas City
New England (from Seattle)
N.Y. Jets
Philadelphia
New Orleans
New England
Baltimore
San Diego
Chicago
Indianapolis

Anybody anticipating any draft day moves to shake things up..? Early on I had Brady being the #1 pick, but when 6'6" 260 lbs JaMarcus Russell entered the mix, well...That's just not some shit you pass up, I saw with my own eyes dude throw the ball 70 yards and was not even set like I chunk shit tissue in the toilet...I think he's going to be good, and certainly worthy of a #1 pick...

WR seems to be the deepest skill spot, but with Colston, the Saints go to guy, being drafted almost last at the end of 2006's draft, I don't think guys will be kicking and screaming to draft a WR high and early...I think there are some solid #1 WR's, Jarrett and Johnson, but...The majority of them are return men I think...

We'll see..!

besides quinn and russell....i don't think there are too many other quarterbacks that will go high.

i see the steelers taking a linebacker (would love to see the hometown boy, poz from psu, in black and gold).

isn't cb a pretty deep class this year.

Aaron Ross from Texas I think is like late first round...and he won the DB award...so I'd say yeah...without knowing too much... as far as ur CB question goes..

WR is a deep position this year, but ayhja makes a good point.

Calvin Johnson is the damn future tho.....what a beast.

Draft is in Day 2 now. They are just beginning the 6th round picks. What did you like/dislike about the draft so far?

I love how Brady Quinn dropped so far. Hopefully that'll knock some sense into him that you can't walk into this league being all high and mighty. I can't believe that Miami didn't take a QB with the their pick though. Ted Ginn Jr did not deserve to go 9th. That's crazy. Also, Detroit taking another WR in the first round? I know Calvin Johnson is not like other receivers but still....I hope he doesn't fall victim to the Detroit curse

Gonna get to some draft talk in a minute, but the biggest piece of news to me thus far..?

The Oakland Raiders cut ties with Randy Moss after two unproductive seasons, sending the former Pro Bowl receiver to the New England Patriots for a fourth-round draft pick.

How do the Pats do that shit man..? The reload every year like they finished last in the league..! Damn...

Anyway, here's the draft thus far:

1 1 Oakland Russell, JaMarcus QB 6-6 263 Louisiana State
2 2 Detroit Johnson, Calvin WR 6-4 237 Georgia Tech
3 3 Cleveland Thomas, Joe OT 6-6 313 Wisconsin
4 4 Tampa Bay Adams, Gaines DE 6-5 260 Clemson
5 5 Arizona Brown, Levi OT 6-4 328 Penn State
6 6 Washington Landry, LaRon FS 6-2 205 Louisiana State
7 7 Minnesota Peterson, Adrian RB 6-2 218 Oklahoma
8 8 Atlanta (from Houston) Anderson, Jamaal DE 6-6 279 Arkansas
9 9 Miami Ginn Jr., Ted WR 6-0 180 Ohio State
10 10 Houston (from Atlanta) Okoye, Amobi DT 6-2 287 Louisville
11 11 San Francisco Willis, Patrick ILB 6-1 240 Mississippi
12 12 Buffalo Lynch, Marshawn RB 5-11 217 California
13 13 St. Louis Carriker, Adam DE 6-6 292 Nebraska
14 14 N.Y. Jets (from Carolina) Revis, Darrelle CB 6-0 197 Pittsburgh
15 15 Pittsburgh Timmons, Lawrence OLB 6-3 232 Florida State
16 16 Green Bay Harrell, Justin DT 6-4 305 Tennessee
17 17 Denver (from Jacksonville) Moss, Jarvis DE 6-6 251 Florida
18 18 Cincinnati Hall, Leon CB 5-11 193 Michigan
19 19 Tennessee Griffin, Michael FS 6-0 195 Texas
20 20 N.Y. Giants Ross, Aaron CB 6-1 192 Texas
21 21 Jacksonville (from Denver) Nelson, Reggie FS 6-0 193 Florida
22 22 Cleveland (from Dallas) Quinn, Brady QB 6-3 226 Notre Dame
23 23 Kansas City Bowe, Dwayne WR 6-2 217 Louisiana State
24 24 New England (from Seattle) Meriweather, Brandon FS 5-11 192 Miami (Fla.)
25 25 Carolina (from N.Y. Jets) Beason, Jon OLB 6-0 236 Miami (Fla.)
26 26 Dallas (from Philadelphia) Spencer, Anthony DE 6-3 266 Purdue
27 27 New Orleans Meachem, Robert WR 6-3 211 Tennessee
28 28 San Francisco (from New England) Staley, Joe OT 6-5 302 Central Michigan
29 29 Baltimore Grubbs, Ben G 6-3 314 Auburn
30 30 San Diego Davis, Craig WR 6-1 207 Louisiana State
31 31 Chicago Olsen, Greg TE 6-4 252 Miami (Fla.)
32 32 Indianapolis Gonzalez, Anthony WR 6-0 195 Ohio State

My guess is that Miami too Ginn thinking his speed would make him this years Devin Hester, but I don't see it...Even though Quinn dropped, Cleveland is the best place for him...I think that's where he wanted to go even...If he is paired with a good offensive coordinator, him and Winslow Jr. will be lighting up the league in a few years...Miami had its worst season in a couple of years, and still produced a few first rounders...

Also notable:

Dwayne Jarrett must have had a bad workout or something, how does he slip to the second round..? Man, I would have though that he would have went first round definitely, a big physical guy would blow the Colts offense off the charts...Imagine Jarrett @ split end with Marvin Harrison Flanked and either one of the Colts 2, 3, or 4 options in the slot...Wow...I hope Gonzalez pans out...

Michael Bush, 4th round may be a steal for Oakland too...I know he got hurt, but dude is a beast...

They are calling Bush the steal of the draft. That was a great pick by the Raiders. I don't know why Jarrett dropped - I would have picked him before Ginn.

Redskins had a horrible draft and didn't draft for any of their needs. The Packers also didn't draft the offensive player that they needed to back Favre up. They needed either a TE or a RB and they didn't get a TE until the 6th or 7th round. I wouldn't be surprised if Favre hangs it up now after that draft.

Pats are gonna kick ass next year. I wouldn't be surprised if they go undefeated also. They had the best offseason in history. Jeez...and then to grab Moss today. Fucking insane.

This probably means nothing to any of you, but I'm glad to see Dante Rosario from Oregon get drafted by Carolina. I played against Donte in high school - he went to our rival's school. He's a small town boy - the town he grew up in, Dayton Oregon, has a little over 2,000 people in it. I hope he does well since I played against him and because he's a good guy

My question. Why does everybody say Cleveland had such a great draft? Who cares if they picked up Brady Quinn with the 19th pick, they still had to trade next years 1st round pick +. If your willing to sacrifice the future, apparently anybody can have a good draft.
I'm thinking Dallas is going to end up with a pretty high pick next year

They are lucky that they got Quinn. They got 2 top 5 picks in the 1st round and so I would call that a good draft. They got next year's first round pick this year. That means they can start rebuilding a year sooner. I would say that is a good thing. They have 2 guys now who they can build a franchise around. It's not like they are going to be a playoff team next year, but getting these 2 guys was great.
