I am not an expert on animal sacrifice, but would that description include a ploy for sales involving the death and beheading of an animal to have its carcass be put on display... with a naked woman and a man serving steaming entrails IN THE GOAT!!! to be eaten by onlookers.

haha. yah. definately not good taste there. those damn greeks...

MS aired one of those clips i found offensive as well. about this guy growing up acceleratedly and ending up in a coffin at the end. bad taste too. no outcry though.

anyhows. ps3 remains the best deal. i could think about the elite 360 though, but for only a hundred more i get all these extras with sony (as well as a higher spec hdmi output)

actually, no.

The Capricornus Emissarius is the goat sacrifice who is killed with a swith blow the back of the neck (in effect severing the spine) and whose entrails are offered to the Gods. It was done to get the gods to show you favor, and was derived from the Papal bull of the cults of Mithras. In this case, the Gods being asked for favor are the customers who are offered the entrails, and the press invited to eat the entrails.

I was tongue-in-cheek about this, but not generalizing at all. It perfectly informs the greek animal sacrifice of the goat for properity. From the maenads feeding grapes to the crowd to the feast of the entrails. This IS by action the proceedings of the sacrificial rite of the Bacchanalia.

the fact that a pr company - granted it was ok'd by sony greece - thinks this up, has nothing to do with sony as a whole. hell. they pulled 80.000 copies of opm for it!
