Does anyone know of a way to remove the subscription from wma files? I have some downloads that have subscriptions on them that I would like to remove.

not sure if this is the same issue but i d/l'd an album the other day & Windows Media Player won't play the tracks due to some "tag error",yet i can play them separately with VLC. it's bloody odd! never encountered anything like that before. oh & my files were MP3 not WMA. i'm probably in a different shit heap & barking up the wrong tree but who knows it might be the same ish..

That forest is on the other side of the road. You find your barking tree there.

This is a subscription like the kind used in on-line libraries. The file will only play for X number of days unless the subscription in renewed on-line. I want to remove that so I don't have a time limit.

I was just going to say, there may be an easier way, but re-encoding the file would probably be a sure fire solution...I have a proggie that I use to encode things, I can up it if you want...

Much easier solution. FairUse4WM should do it. Quick and easy. Find yourself a copy. It's not hard to find with a little Googling.

Converting the format does eliminate the protection, however, I am unable to make Blaze or FairUse work. I downloaded a limited use program called Protected Music Converter (19.95). The program works, but VERY slowly.
