ok here's the deal,i've had it with downloading these movies with great pic n sound on .avi format & watching them on the PC. it seems like such a waste not watch them on a bigass tv. i need to get a program with the most efficient & User Friendly way of converting those avi's (sometimes mpg/mpeg in the case of my music vids) into a watchable dvd. help please. Thanks AF'ers.

I don't know if you're interested or not, but I saw a gadget in Best Buy recently that allows you to export signals from your PC to play on your TV...I didn't check out the prices on it, but I said that once I got paid again I would definitely look into it...

The second option would be to buy a DVD player that understands .avi and .mpeg format...It's probably less expensive than my first option, and the one I'm most likely to adapt myself...

Lastly...Converting vids to DVD is easy...I just use Nero...Drop the DVD into the window and it does all the work for you...But encoding DVD's can take a while even on a beast system...I recommend this method last cause I think that in the long run, you'll get pissed at doing that...Coupled w/the fact you can usually only put one movie on a DVD in DVD format (possible by merging .avi) as opposed to maybe 3 or 4 very HQ movies in .avi format...

Yeah well my player is pretty old school. just don't have the duckets right now.
might try the Nero method. not big on the first option as the pc is on a desk right next to the teevee & another thing i want to avoid is the hum of the comp. do i need a full version of Nero to convert?!?

I have Nero Ultra 7, but I think the 8 is out...I can probably get a copy if you can't get it from the website...
