saw Marilyn Manson at the Electric Factory in Philly last ni

So, I went to a show last night. Marilyn Manson was ok. Mah girl loves his music, and I actually am aware of most of his influences, so at least I can dissect it. He is a neat dude and some of his lyricism is clever... when he is not trying to eat glass or whatever.

He was pretty low key, and the venue was 2,500 max, with a balcony for drinking. I met my friend Rick there, and his date was awesome, and me and babe got her numbers too! Rick had known her for years and she was casually seductive with him, and he and i are like brothers... so there was no jealousy in the building. That was a refreshing change. Anyways, she was a hot blonde in pig tails wearing a vinyl dress she was poured into before it was buckled from the back. She smelled like apples and nutmeg and had a strong indication of Lithuanian heritage. My *heritage* radar was on the money (so strong her last name is Lithuanian, though not her first name), and as many before her, she weas impressed I seemed to be able to tell so much about her upon first meeting.

I independently *guessed* she was in a senior adminitration role of a medical non-profit (for parkinson's) but not for reasons of a personal nature, a heavy roller blader (she is trying out for roller girls tonight), her favorite club, her favorite food, three of her worst allergies, her dietary supplements, and her favorite hobby, and what she was currently downloading on her computer at home while at the show. And she knew Rick hadn't called me, and I had never heard hide nor hair of her before.

What can I say, it's a gift. ;) And she was so impressed, she started buying the beer to see what else I might know... and try to get me to tell her future. She was not a "goth chick" and she had a change of jeans and and a hoody in the car, so she this was clearly not the norm for her, which made it even hotter. As it is, we gotta take her out for drinks so I can get that beer back at her. We might even let Rick come! ;)

Me and my boy had the hotties of the night, so we had dudes coming in to check or see if they could get close to *accidentally* press up against our girls, so we cornered them and made sure they didn't get rubbed up on.

As for the music, the opening band sucked. MM was full of energy, and played LOTS of old punk and some L7 and stuff. It was fun, and not too crazy for a screaming dude on stage.

and HE WORE A SHIRT AND PANTS ~ leather, but still... at least I didn't get a screaming dude in women's undies. Though I don't know if even that could have ruined the night.

I got tix for like 15 bucks, which was far better than the 75 they ended up going for.

Hey, that's a great concert review! You got the vibe, the place, the whole experience. Only time I've been to the Electric Company was something alt-country a few years back. . . i liked the place, but the sound was terrible.

Wow - I swap music with a few people around the globe...
I know this Hungarian Lesbian that is totally in to MM.... I think she would even break ranks and play for the other team for an opportunity like this one.....

Guess I'll never know...... my loss

I've never seen him live, but I'd like to since it would be interesting at the very least. I liked his first few albums alright, but I hated The Golden Age of Grotesque, and forgot he had an album after that.
