Ok, this is just getting ridiculous now. recent news has it that this so-called origin/solo movie will be featuring a cast of thousands. my main prob with the last X-Men piece of shit outing (other than the fact that Fox should've waited to let Bryan Singer direct it) was that it had waaaaay too many fucking characters to service & not enough time to do so. hence why most of 'em got lost in the mix such as Angel,Psylocke,Rogue.Cyclops etc. i get why they have Sabretooth in this new movie as he is part of Wolverine's past. now in the last week it has come to light that this shit will have The Blob,Gambit,Beak,Deadpool & others all up in there too. i mean WTF?! i smell the bad stench of this ending up a cross between the fucking misnomer of X3 (too many characters) & that almost unwatchable crapfest that was Blade Trinity (using an already established franchise & featuring more of the "co-stars" so they'll get a spin-off Nightstalkers film & leaving the main draw to play second fiddle). no wonder Snipes sued their asses.
here are the source articles:

Ryan Reynolds to Play Deadpool?
Source: Ain't It Cool News
February 18, 2008

Let's recap... Ryan Reynolds told us the following a couple of weeks ago:

CS: You were under consideration for "The Flash," correct?
Reynolds: Uh huh.

CS: Are there any other superheroes you'd be interested in playing?
Reynolds: Basically for me there are two superheroes that I could play. One would be Deadpool, the other would be The Flash. There are no imminent plans to do either just now.

CS: Why Deadpool?
Reynolds: He's just the "merc with a mouth". For me I guess it's a no-brainer.

Now, Ain't It Cool News reports today:

Anyone up for a little DEADPOOL?

How about if Ryan Reynolds is playing him?

This one's supposed to be a secret, but cat's out of the bag now, Marvel.

An awful lot must have happened the last few weeks (or maybe he's just a liar... a good one though!) It's not for a Deadpool movie though, but instead for a cameo in X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Taylor Kitsch is Gambit in Wolverine!

February 19, 2008

Scooper 'Chaos Bringer' has revealed on Superhero Hype!'s message boards that "Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch will play Gambit (AKA Remy LeBeau) in director Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Kitsch has signed a three-picture deal.

He'll be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Danny Huston (William Stryker) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) in the 20th Century Fox release, opening May 1, 2009.

Leading up to the events of X-Men, "Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

In related news, we've posted a hi-res version of the new Wolverine photo here! Scooper 'Darthjul' also tells us that "Wolverine" will be shooting in Glebe Point Park, Sydney on February 29.

Will.i.am is John Wraith in Wolverine

February 20, 2008

20th Century Fox has cast Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am in his first film role as John Wraith in X-Men: Wolverine.

He'll be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Danny Huston (William Stryker), Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Taylor Kitsch (Gambit) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) in the film opening May 1, 2009.

Wraith is a mutant who has the power to teleport, and is another test subject of the Weapon X program that created Wolverine and other mercenaries.

Gavin Hood is directing the "X-Men" spin-off in New Zealand, Australia and New Orleans. David Benioff wrote the script.

Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter are producing with Jackman and his Seed Productions producing partner John Palermo. Marvel's Kevin Feige executive produces.

Monaghan is Beak in Wolverine

February 21, 2008

Just Jared reports that former "Lost" star Dominic Monaghan will play Barnell Bohusk (AKA Beak) in 20th Century Fox's X-Men: Wolverine. Here's a description of the character:

Beak was a mutant whose bones were light and hollow. His arms had begun to grow feathers, which when fully formed, may have allowed him to fly. He could at the mean time glide and fly for short distances with great effort. Beak also had enhanced eyesight along with talons on his hands and feet. Even though Beak had bird-like qualities, it was extremely difficult for him to fly.

You can read more about Beak here!

He'll be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Taylor Kitsch (Gambit), Will.i.am (Kestrel), Danny Huston (William Stryker) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) in the Gavin Hood-directed pic, opening May 1, 2009.

Durand is The Blob in Wolverine?
Source: FilmSchoolRejects
February 24, 2008

FilmSchoolRejects is reporting that Wild Hogs, Mystery, Alaska and 3:10 to Yuma actor Kevin Durand will play The Blob in X-Men Origins: Wolverine:

Our source inside the production tells us that Durand was "live-scanned" for The Blob a while ago, but has just officially signed on to the project in recent days. Word is that he will be heading up to his native Canada to shoot scenes for the film sometime next week. This is also important because the rest of the production is happening half way across the world in New Zealand and Australia.

Henney is Agent Zero in Wolverine

February 22, 2008

Variety says that Daniel Henney has also joined the cast of 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, now filming in New Zealand, Australia and New Orleans.

Henney will portray Agent Zero, a member of the Weapon X program and an expert tracker with lethal marksman skills.

He'll be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Taylor Kitsch (Gambit), Will.i.am (Kestrel), Danny Huston (William Stryker), Dominic Monaghan (Barnell) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) in the Gavin Hood-directed pic, opening May 1, 2009.

Source: Retroman, A1ant
May 6, 2008

Scooper 'Retroman' posted on the Superhero Hype! message boards a discovery that an agency has Australian actor Tim Pocock listed as playing Scott Summers (Cyclops) in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

'A1ant' then followed-up with the agency who confirmed the casting. "Yes, that information is correct. He was cast as the younger Scott Summers," they said.

Directed by Gavin Hood, the May 1, 2009 Fox release stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins.

Yeah the last I heard they were going to start including characters from other comic companies like Green Lantern and Flash (only younger of course and as Barry Allen) plus Howard the Duck too. This is going to be great!

It's starting to look like an episode of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. "Oh I'm glad that I can talk about my problems about Sally with you Dr Freud. But just give me a minute to get my papercut patched up by Nurse Nightingale." HONK HONK!!

This is sad news, indeed. What do Deadpool and Gambit and the others have to do with Weapon X? I stopped reading comics in the late 80's so I'm not up on all the current storylines. Years later I remember looking at some comic book covers at a book store and seeing Wolverine with bone claws coming out of his hands...... :sarcasm: Just shook my head and walked away. X-Men written by Chris Claremont and penciled by John Byrne. Those were the days!

Raum hates all today! First no love for Ledger as Joker now Jackman's Wolvie. I thought Jackman did a great job as Wolverine...little tall for the role but otherwise I was pretty happy with him...even if this movie sounds ridiculous.

Why are we whispering?
