The Return of Knight Rider

Sydney Poitier (Grindhouse) has landed a role on NBC's two-hour movie Knight Rider, which will serve as a pilot for a possible remake of the TV series about a man and his talking car, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Transformers-inspired sequel centers on Mike Tracer (Justin Bruening), the son of Michael Knight, the character played by David Hasselhoff in the original show. Poitier will play a feisty FBI agent who dislikes Mike.

Poitier, youngest daughter of actor Sidney Poitier, starred in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof portion of the Grindhouse double feature, as well as in the CW series Veronica Mars. (NBC is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.

Besides Knight Rider wasn't even any good. The only reason the show came out was because people suck and couldn.t understand a REAL show, like Automan.

And another thing... Surely a top secret goverment project would use a better recruiting system than ancestry. This has loads of epic fail in it, before I even see KITT is a MUSTANG?!??

WOW! What a difference huh? Ford must've thrown a TON of money at Universal to change everything. Didn't even see it but I guess it may come back as a series next year.

OK, I just watched the pilot...And...I didn't hate it..! When I was a kid in the 80's, you couldn't stop me from watching Hulk, Street Hawk, Airwolf, and Knight Rider...This is a remake, and it wasn't that bad...It's not run over a few kids trying to get home, lock down in my seat type stuff, but it can be a fun show...

He's illegitimate, has his mother's last name...Hell, even the Hoff made a guest appearance, lmfao...I just found out Val Kilmer is Kitt...Did I mention Deanna and Sydney..? I still don't like the Mustang, but it may yet grow on me...Reminds me of the Mustang in last summer's Transformers...

Other than some attractive women as guest stars, I could never understand why the original was such a hit. :?:

This new series would have to be drastically improved -- like new Battlestar Galactica improved.

Maybe each episode should feature a video from the Hoff.
