Re: Quantum Of Solace (Bond 22)
I understand that it's the name of Fleming's short story, but while "Quantum of Solace" is an intriguing movie title, it seems completely wrong for the title of a Bond movie, even weirder than "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." I wonder if people who wouldn't normally be interested in a Bond movie will be interested by the title and go see it for the name alone, or at least be more likely to look up info about it, or if it'll end up making people who would usually go to Bond movies in the theater wait for the DVD. I couldn't believe it when they changed the name from Revolution to Wii, and that seems to be doing alright, so maybe the name doesn't matter as long as the movie is good.

Will Al Pacino Be Bond Villain?
Rumors are flying round the net that Mr. Al Pachino may head up the terrorist organization that Bond is trying to hunt down in Quantum Of Solace. We get the scoop from AICN via cinematical:
Here’s part of what the scooper wrote in to AICN: “But the big news that he leaked was that Al Pacino would be taking part in filming. I was a little shocked as the cast has been revealed already, but he said Pacino would play the head of the terrorist group introduced in CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE. Al is said to come to Pinewood in April-May to film what is said to be a brief cameo.”

Re: Quantum Of Solace (Bond 22)
Quantum of Solace Title Explained (kinda)
from TMB:
The upcoming James Bond prequel sequel title was released and the title still has people wondering what it means. Quantum of Solace?? What is that? I have an idea, lets see what the writer of the screenplay has to say.
MTVMovies quotes:
You’re probably still wondering what the title of the next James Bond movie, “Quantum of Solace,” actually means. Star Daniel Craig insisted that the oddly-phrased moniker “ties into the plot,” but don’t tell that to the Oscar-winning writer of the script…because he’s just as confused as the rest of us.
“I have no idea,” Paul Haggis admitted when I asked him for the meaning on the Oscar red carpet Sunday. “It’s not my title.”
So Craig says it has something to do with the plot. A tie in. It will all make sense kinda like when we all couldnt figure out what “The Phantom Menace” meant and finally got it after the movie came out. Some titles just sound stupid but become part of the accepted genre after a while and you kinda forget how dumb it sounded.
According to Ask Yahoo the answer states: “Quantum of Solace” is a small degree of comfort that can exist between two people emotionally in a relationship. The Governor character in the Ian Fleming short story of the same name defines it as “… a precise figure defining the comfort, humanity and fellow feeling required between two people for love to survive. If the quantum of solace is nil, then love is dead.”
I am still at a loss as to what this will mean. Bond is dealing with his feelings over Vesper Lynd’s death in the previous film and perhaps this alludes to the shaping of the cold womanizer that Bond becomes later in his career. Keeping that “quantum” at nil, he can avoid falling in love.
Or maybe I am just grasping.
What do you think?

Re: Quantum Of Solace (Bond 22)
i lost my tits when i read this shit!!!fucking pay him already!!!
Sean Connery As Bond Bad Guy?
source: Cinematical via TheMovieBlog
How fricking sweet would it be to see Sean Connery back in a James Bond film as a villain??? I had ths same thoughts back when I suggested that Michael Keaton should come back to the Batman franchise as The Joker. Not only can the man seriously act… but the novelty of it would be totally priceless.
Well, there are reports right now that Sean Connery is indeed in talks to come on board Quantum of Solace (stupidest movie title ever) as the Bond villain opposite Daniel Craig. The folks at Cinematical give us this:
according to Ace Showbiz, a new press release says that the actor has considered returning to the franchise as the big baddie. Connery is quoted as saying: “I wouldn’t mind coming back as a Bond villain. But I don’t think they would pay me enough. They don’t pay the money for other parts, only for the Bond character, although that wasn’t the case when I was doing it.” Ouch! I would think they might want to add Connery in to at least save some face. Sure, things change, but what production wants to be considered penny pinchers that only care about Craig? Ace goes on to say: “Allegedly, the 77-year-old Academy Award-winning actor has been involved in negotiations to land a villain role with the film’s producers since Daniel Craig has been tapped to bring Ian Fleming’s agent back to the big screen with Casino Royale.”
Hot damn sign me up! Casino Royale was my favorite Bond flick to date and I love the direction the franchise seems to be heading. Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever (that’s saying something) and to have the immortal Sean Connery come back to the Bond fold as a villain would be a dream merger. I seriously hope this actually happens!

Re: Quantum Of Solace (Bond 22)
Bro, I agree completely...Lots of mixed reviews about DC as Bond, but I personally loved the movie and will ad it to my HD collection for sure...Connery would only bring majesty and validity to the role...
Don't know how Casino Royale did at the Box Office off the top of my head, but it'd do that much and more if Sean were in it...

Casino Royale killed it @ tha box office. i personally think Craig ripped the franchise a new asshole. if he does 2 or 3 more Bonds like CR then i'm willing to put him on par with Sir Sean of owning that 007 shit.

Winehouse Says No, No, No to 007
Los Angeles (E! Online) - Looks like Amy Winehouse isn't ready for any kind of Bonding experience yet.
In an interview with Britain's Sky News, her producer, Mark Ronson, revealed that the Grammy-winning soul diva has stopped working on the new theme song for the latest 007 flick.
He said Winehouse is "not ready to record any music" and that it's going to take "some miracle of science" to finish the two tracks for the upcoming Quantum of Solace.
Winehouse is in serious need of a little divine intervention. Last week, in her latest run-in with the law, Winehouse was held overnight in police custody and given a formal warning after admitting to slapping a man at a bar.
such a shame. she had the pipes to pull off a bond theme song.

Damn, Baby Girl has some serious fucking issues...Some other girl, and probably one a little more deserving to be honest, should probably be given a crack at this...
