Re: 640 GB HDD
Yes, prices are similar everywhere, aren't they?
I just paid $97 Cdn for 500GB 7200RPM IDE 16MB Cache at a local computer store a few blocks away.
(At the current exchange rate, that's about $96 USD or 60 Euro.)

It's a Barracuda, so I guess that's a Seagate. Unless they've been bought out by someone else.Sir Jig-A-Lot wrote:97 bucks for 500GB is a bit of alright. what's the brand?..
Ontario, Canada, and especially the Greater Toronto Area is known for it's hi-tech (Canad-Arm for space shuttles, IMax theatre systems, BlackBerry) and longstanding contacts with Hong Kong and China.
We have over a million Mandarin speaking Canadians here -- and you wonder why we have cheap computer equipment prices?!?!

Re: 640 GB HDD
Funny, I used to swear by WD, but I'm leaning more towards Seagate and IBM...Both have kicked ass, but the reputation of Seagate making a quiet drive is nice, especially in my laptop...I never hear the drives, even when I know they're going full steam...
It's weird, cause I had a computer long before Windows, and I remember that if it wasn't making noise, that shit wasn't working, lol...
