They have WRECKED GI Joe.

"G.I. Joe is now a Brussels-based outfit that stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, an international co-ed force of operatives who use hi-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil organization headed by a double-crossing Scottish arms dealer."

A Scottish Arms dealer???? No doubt they will be burning cars in the streets of Scotland over this. Cobra Commander is a Presbyterian? Slan Lat Meigha Breitha Destro? ARGH!!! There aren't even Cobras in Scotland... If Scotland had a terrorist organization, it would be named "bugger all, it's not a dress!" or "Chaos on a pisser." or the like.

I can forgive them for casting a gaijin as Snake-Eyes (who was not originally a Joe), cause he is such a cool gaijin and he never needs to talk or to be seen. But explain Stormshadow and Snake-eyes are twin brothers, so you better NEVER see the man beneath the mask, which means the whole origin of Snake-Eyes and how became a Joe will be absent from the plot.

scene from the movie? http://www.diggersrealm.com/mt/archives ... panese.jpg

The Best role EVAR for Mr. Parks is Daniel Rand - "Iron Fist" in a Heroes for Hire movie. That could easily be the "Rush Hour" of marvel movies. He is awesome and would make that movie shine.

--

As for G.I. Joe, or G.I.J.O.E - that is a TOTAL betrayal of Mitchell Paige and the others who followed. Many of the GI Joe figure were real people. REAL AMERICAN HEROES**. I will not see this movie until G.I. Joe are U.S. Marine corps personnel, under the direction of Admiral Flagg by direction of the Dept of the Navy. One requirement for being a "Joe" was that a candidate was a recipient of the US Medal of Honor. How is an "international task force of coed politically correct operatives gone wild" going to receive the Medal of Honor?

**I have NO issue with a movie about a over-the-top Global Task Force, several great childrens series and toys were based on them.. like M.A.S.K. who were sponsored by the P.N.A. (Peaceful Nations Alliance - basically NATO). You can even make a Iranian M.A.S.K. pilot, and I got no issue. Prolly make a better movie, anyways.

Cobra-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-laaaaaaaaa!

I thought Slaughter in GI Joe was a travesty.

Otherwise, I wouldn't know.

oh you ain't wrong, raum. that shit was a joke. the kids ate up Slaughter in the Joe at the stores though.

:laff: CDR! i ain't heard of M.A.S.K. in years n years!

btw as far as i am aware of, Snake Eyes was a white guy (G.I. Joe Vol 1 #'s 26/27) & that he & Stormshadow were brothers figuratively..unless the dude's origin got retconned?

btw can anyone post those two issues here? Tony?2H?,Ne0? they're the Marvel G.I.Joe run btw.

heh, you say I ain't wrong and then correct me. That's why i love this place.
(i know it wasn't about the same thing. but still it was funny!@)

I was however, incorrect. or at least half-incorrect.

Snake Eyes has a twin SISTER "Teresa"

and for the record:

He has several stories, one of which they are half-brothers. This was recently confirmed by John Ney Rieber (writer), and it has been there for sometime on the page.

In that story,

Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow had the same mother, but different fathers. It appears that both fathers were martial arts experts. Storm Shadow said of Snake-Eyes father: "Your father was a legend for that skill, among the Yamabushi--to walk on snow and leave no footprints."

Storm Shadow then said: "But my father could snap a bull's neck with one hand."

(Sounds like "my dad is better then your dad")

Also, it seems that somewhere along the line something happened for Storm Shadow to blame the US government for the death of their mother.

I also think that Storm Shadow is older then Snake-Eyes.

(from a google forum on the comics.)

but this guy has a different story : http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/snakes.html

Wow, no posts in this for over a year..? LoL...Even though the movie has been out for a couple weeks..? Damn...

I thought it was pretty good, actually...I mean, the thing is, the TV shows were so fucking awesome, its hard to compare...But this was a decent way to introduce Joe's to the new generation, or so I thought...I could have done without some parts...But I can say for sure that Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes made the movie...

Rachel was blazin' though, which sticks to the tried and true that a hot piece of ass will take a movie a long, long way...

Hey man, you're only a hypocrite if you don't come clean..! I don't want to toss out too many spoilers, but the end caught me WAY off guard man, there were several things that I just didn't see coming...The special effects were awesome...I'd definitely recommend to others to go and see it...
