Using NOD32 anti-virus from ESET. They recently came out with a Security Suite called Smart Security which I have not tried yet, but I would say that it is good.

I'm using Avg free right now, but I came across a little conflict... The free edition will expire in about 5 days and I will be forced to buy either Avg 8 or something else...

Actually AVG is a bit misleading about that. There is a free version of AVG 8. Just google it or look on their webpage. The problem is - as far as I am concerned - it installs more crap than I want.

I'm using both; Comodo firewall and AV, also Microsoft Defender (real-time), and Spywareblaster.

I have a few apps to check against them; Spybot S&D 1.6beta, Ad-Aware 2008, Super AntiSpyware, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

Just wanted to update this and say that I tried Kaspersky...

It was utter CRAP...AVG is the only one for me...Shit, I may even drop dime on the professional version at this point...

I figured out how to install this version of AVG without the "link-checker" update, which many users of the product complained about how it slowed down or conflicted their system.

I like it very much so far, but I only came around to using it because my ESET NOD32 Security expired, and before that, I was forced to swith to ESET because my Kapersky AV expired as well.

It's amazing how since I first plugged into the internet, I instinctively installed three of the highest-rated and most secure security applications at three different points of my usage.

What's odd, though, is, after uninstalling my NOD32, and going the route of AVG Free 8, the freeware actually more thoroughly scanned my system and found hidden trojans that my paid subscription to ESET never alerted me of; kinda disconcerting to me.

Yeah, exactly M8...When I first got online, I was pro Norton...And the more I learned about the net, the more pissed I got at the 'bigger' virus companies...AVG has been the only one to provide good protection while staying the fuck out of my way...Man, Kaspersky was all OVER me, I couldn't do shit...And I got my first 2 BSOD's w/Kaspersky so, yeah...They couldn't pay me to use their AV...
