dammit it's happening as i feared it would: over at Rotten Tomatoes, the handful of 'critics' who have already got reviews on this posted are being nitpicky bitches. stuff like: "oh this isn't Ang's Hulk" or crabbing over the character's skin colour. Even though i personally think this movie'll kick my expectations' butt hard, i'm now once again wishing Marvel had grown bigger cahonas & gone with the cunning ruthless Grey Hulk (grey easier to do than green) or The Professor incarnations as I think they are a far more interesting choice for storytelling purposes. maybe I'm just nervous as it's not long to go now.. :?:

It would confuse too many outsiders that just know the basics of Hulk (super strong, green and dumb). I can hear a no-fan like Richard Roper now, "this movie didn't make sense, isn't the Hulk supposed to be Green? Why is he talking so intelligently now? I don't know the Hulk too well but I remember the show and this is not a faithful interpretation at all." This is a critic free movie anyway so don't sweat the Rotten tomatoes.

I read some of the Rotten Tomatoes stuff and yeah they were pretty ridiculous.

I usually discount all critics comments. Unless some cowboy is sexing up another cowboy or there's singing, dancing and/or subtitles then they usually don't like it. That's why I guess the most accurate place to look if you're a straight guy for a review would be Aintitcoolnews. They're usually right.

true dat. Moriarty or Harry from AICN are usually spot-on with these types of movies.

I agree with Moriarty, Quint, and other reviewers at Ain't It Cool more than I do with Harry... or I should say that I take their reviews more seriously. Harry has specifically said that he only reviews those movies that he's passionate about - hence, why the vast majority of his reviews are obscenely positive. I'm not saying he's always wrong, just that he's not a good critic. Whereas the other reviewers will actually tell you what worked and what didn't - more constructive and objective, I think.

Why would folk bitch about the color..? To me, this hulk is a more realistic color...And considering the fact that if people bitching are some kinds of purists, Hulk wouldn't be green anyway...

That's true. Harry is kinda a nitwit. But he's more in line of my expectations of a film than say your typical newspaper critic. I think most newspaper critics hate the typical "guy" film because if they say they like it then they're considered fools by the other snobby critics who turn their noses up.

As for the Hulk color I can't tell the difference anyway since I'm color blind. :silly:
