NO, not the old man who owned the Pizza shop... Betty's date that she was there with when she saw Banner. Specifically the dude played by Ty Burrell who is implied to have revealed Banner's location. Remember after Hulk snatches Betty, and Ross goes to Samson's house, and he tells Samson that he "did the right thing to let them know where Banner is?" And then Samson says he isn't going to help them anymore?... did I imagine this?
his name in the credits said Dr. Samson. BUT that can't be THE Dr. Samson is it?
Please say it isn't, but it looks like it is:
Spoiler:
From an interview about possibilities for the sequel: "He's [sic Doc Samson] not necessarily a bad guy but also not necessarily a good guy either. He's such a complicated character," Burrell said of Samson, whose brief appearance in "Incredible Hulk" sets him up for more drama. "In the comic [book], [he] went back and forth from being a friend to Bruce ... to then kind of working against him. That's what's great about it."
Like Nelson, Burrell said he has had conversations with Marvel about the ultimate development of his character in future installments. In the comics, the canonical Samson is exposed to gamma radiation, but comes to learn that his powers are tied to the length of his (now green) hair.
Burrell thinks that they should stay as true to that origin as possible, even if it means he has to do a little creative hairstyling.
"My pitch would be that he's trying to cure Bruce — that he's actually trying to help him, and he makes it worse. And it's his ego that kind of causes the trouble," Burrell said of where he'd like Samson to be in part two. "If we see the radiation, then I'll definitely have the longer hair. Maybe we'll have to go with a wig. I don't know. [But I'm] voting for green, for sure!"
He'll be green with envy if Leterrier has his way. That's because the filmmaker behind "Hulk" is positioning himself in Nelson's camp, calling the Leader his preferred villain for part two. The reason? Would you believe it's because he doesn't want to see another typical Hulk fight?
"I really love the Leader because there's something unstoppable about him, [but] it's also not the same thing. It's just different," Leterrier said, reasoning that a fight between Samson and the Hulk would be just another contest of might against might. "The fact that [Leader] controls stuff with his mind — I just like that. There's an idea here that's more cinematic."
But for all the myriad possibilities that "Hulk 2" could bring, legendary Hulk creator Stan Lee said he's just got one demand: more Stan Lee.
"My cameo [in 'Incredible Hulk'] is a blink. All I say is, 'Wow!' and I say it very low," he smiled. "So they better make up for it in the next movie!"
OMG - If you make Doc Samson the enemy of the Hulk, you have missed the entire point of Samson's character, who should at most irradiate himself to help take on Leader, who is trying to irradiate Betty (and the whole world). Give Sterns a twisted but compassionate motive, like trying to gamma-radiate Betty so she and Hulk can be together and happy. Furthermore, with this bullsh!t *weaponized* Hulk crap, the whole point of Doc Samson is moot. Because Doc Samson doesn't even become powered until willingly exposing himself to some of the Hulk's radiation AFTER Banner is cured. However, I think the end scene of the Hulk will confirm that the Hulk is no longer considered a curse to be avoided or cured by Banner.
Do you believe Banner, as played by Norton, will cure himself and willingly re-expose himself to the gamma to become the Hulk again out of jealousy over Samson macking on Betty. Futhermore, how much like Clark becoming superman again, or Ben Grimm becoming Thing again. That thing is played out in hollywood.
I am really worried about a Hulk Trilogy. I think he is pretty much primed for drop into the Avengers...

Sadly, I cannot refute that. It is The Doctor Leonard Samson. I take it you avoided watchong the initial Incredible Hulk Teaser & the first full-blown Trailer for the movie?!?. A scene btween Banner & Samson having an impromtu shrink session was featured in the openings of both, but was stupidly cut from the (un)finished product that hit theaters last week. you can check it out HERE

Agreed.

That's what it implies at least: that he can now control The Change.

Word around the Marvel mill is the Avengers will form to take him on before he joins their ranks. which is true to the comics.
As I'm watching the bootleg, while this may be fairly obvious to everyone else, I'm just now figuring out that what Mr. Blue did to Bruce was give him the ability to change at will...
At the end when he jumped out of the helicopter, he was like, 'Oh shit'...And of course, you're wondering why he said that, but when he hits the ground as Hulk and then the little devilish smile at the end, I was like, 'oooo'....The dialogue that they had with Mr. Blue also hinted at that, or so I thought...
just watched this movie as its only recently arrived in UK! Thought it was awesome!!
like all comic book adaptations, there is much for the purist to grumble at but if you just enjoy it as a basic story it's pretty good. especially liked Ed Norton in it, not an obvious choice but he did well.
Still looking for a lab scientist that looks even remotely as attractive as Liv Tyler...
Another thing that I (thank the net for bootlegs) noticed..
What was up w/Mr. Blue's face bubbling after he made the abomination..? I took from it that he had already begun experimenting on himself, and with Blonsky down, there must be some other foe lurking that they will use to make a sequal...Can anyone shed light..?
Mr Blue aka Samuel Sterns becomes The Leader. If Abomination is Hulk's strongest arch-foe, The Leader is the smartest. check it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Sterns
I haven't been here in a while, but I have surely enjoyed reading all this info, guys! I just now watched the movie (I guess I avoided this thread for fear of spoilers), and I really enjoyed it! I didn't like it as much as Iron Man, but I didn't expect to. However, I was highly entertained, and I say Marvel Studios is 2-for-2. Looking forward to the Captain America and Avengers movies!
Finally saw it today! Loved it! Not too thinky but really well done. Think the Hulk in the last version looked more realistic but this one was badder ass lookin. Think the Leader thing coulda been more diabolical and planned as opposed to an accident but really couldn't complain about much. Oh but think they shoulda worked Rick Jones in somehow.
