So has anybody from here seen it yet?!? I'm hearing nothing but good things like :
"Ever wanted to have your ass kicked so hard by an action film that it's knocked off your backside and handed it to you on a silver platter? That's pretty much WANTED in a nutshell"
I'm so amped to see this shit (yet pissed it ain't gettin' released in Oz until the last day of July)[/center]

Tried to see it..bought the tix and went in but the theater was packed and me and my girl woulda had to sit apart so we went and watched the Hulk again. Well again for me. Her first time, she wasn't happy. So I think I'll probably wait to see it on DVD now.

A cool, fun movie. It reminded me a lot of the Matrix with the concept of the story and some of the special effects but there was enough in there to make it unique. If you've seen the director's past movies (NightWatch and DayWatch) you can definitely see that he's using that same visual style and the sfx are similar. I thought it was kind of predictable but it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the story; and it had some pretty cool action sequences as well. I wouldn't mind a sequel.

I'm still amped to check it out. I'm of the mind that not all comic flicks gotta be deep or thought provoking if the action is tight & it's nicely paced. All reports thus far I've read have said Wanted is just that.

OK, I went to see this last night...

I think I'd have to agree w/what slo said...The only problem I had is that by the end of the movie, I want all my questions answered...If I leave the theater and don't think I know everything, I feel sort of shitty...Amazing special effects though...Very, very fucking cool....I may need to read the comics to see what it is I couldn't figure out at the movies...Maybe we can discuss in spoiler tags..!

Warning, contains spoilers (This is why its in spoiler tags!)
Spoiler:
My biggest question is...Was the adrenaline rush/Matrix type stuff all bullshit..? I mean, we didn't have a good enough reason to think that the guy they said was his dad wasn't his dad until the end pretty much...And that guy was doing some amazing shit, much like the end sequence where Wesley was kicking all kinds of ass...What gives on that..?

My response:
Spoiler:
Yes - it was real. A clear case of mind over matter especially with the bending of the bullets.
My question:
Spoiler:
Clearly "Fate" chose Sloan to die - and it became a self fulfilling prophecy. He didn't want to die, so he sought power and in doing so, killed people for profit...which is why he needed to die. Would this have happened if his name had never come up? So is fate really fate or do we control our own? Had he not chosen to avoid his fate in the manner that he did, would the names of everyone else also have shown up on the loom of fate? Did their names appear as a consequence of following Sloan's deception? ..and if that is the case, did they really need to die? Certainly some did, as one of them (I forget which) said "fuck the rules" and was willing to follow Sloan... but did Fox really need to eat her own bullet?
