Don't know if anyone here is a Pixar fan but i just saw this movie today and I think it's the studio's masterpiece. Admittedly, I didn't find it as funny as I expected it to be but it had a lot of heart and the story was well-crafted. And speaking of the animation/CG, this is one of, if not THE BEST, they've done. Everything in the movie looks stunning and detailed that they could put real humans in there and it would blend in perfectly. Definitely a winner for this year's Academy Awards for Best Animated film.
However, I'd still say my fave Pixar film is either Toy Story or The Incredibles.
Anyone have a different opinion?

Suprisingly, I Loved It! Easily on par with The Incredibles...& I ain't never been much of a Pixar fan.
(Though Toy Story & Nemo were aiiite too. Just not 2 films i'd watch again.)

I'm a big fan of Pixar, and in fact, I can't wait for the day they start to make more animated movies like this...However, I only go as far as necessary with movies like these...If Ra isn't checking for them, then I assume its worth missing...I haven't heard him say anything about this movie, just hounding me about 'Redboy'...So, I'll save this $25 at the theater and just grab a DVD more than likely...But their animation has been cutting edge since day 1...

Honestly, from what I have seen... I don't know this is one exactly for the kids. not saying kids won't like it, but seems like this is enjoyed adults across the board.Kumicho wrote:I'm a big fan of Pixar, and in fact, I can't wait for the day they start to make more animated movies like this...However, I only go as far as necessary with movies like these...If Ra isn't checking for them, then I assume its worth missing...I haven't heard him say anything about this movie, just hounding me about 'Redboy'...So, I'll save this $25 at the theater and just grab a DVD more than likely...But their animation has been cutting edge since day 1...

You'd be right, raum. Considering this is a film mostly w/out dialogue & has a pretty ovrt message, I'd say it went over more than a few kids' heads. Some young'uns got it though. My 2 nieces dug it when i took em yesterday.

I plan on seeing this one. Pixar's films tend to be more for adults anyway - the animation still has a 'kid's movie' stigma to it I guess. I like the previews.
