Well, A lot of the pacing toward the end made it drag. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the the 2 last scenes of Wayne buying his company back & between Gordon & Batman on the rooftop. It was some of the stuff that preceded them by about 20-30 min made shit stretch out. & Nolan & screenwriter Goyer's ethos of "Let's keep it grounded in the Real World" just got thrown out the window toward the end i felt. All that subplot with the microwave emitter could have been handled better.
Most of the fight scenes were in that goddamn shaky cam. I hate that shit! The one thing that any competent dircetor should come correct with in making a superhero movie are the fight scenes.we should get to clearly see niggas hittin' other niggas. Nolan makes excuses about wanting to show the mystery of Batman, but with him especially because he has no superpowers, the on;y action you can really have him doing is beating motherfuckers down in a slugfest. The only fight scene in Begins that should've been quicker than the eye & vague was the ninja shit in Rhas' temple in Tibet. Dude had no excuse. I hate to say it, but the previous four batfilms had better fight scenes.
I feel Holmes was badly miscast as assistant DA/Love interest. That's where i think most superhero films fuck up: Unecessarily adding a love interest. it's ok for them to have a hottie to save, but they do not have to have them involved, or at peril during the final battle. Saving a city or the world is enough. The Spider-Man franchise is a good case study of this. Much as i love the first 2 movies, how many fucking times are you gonna have Mary Jane held hostage to coax Spidey into a final showdown with <insert villain> ?!? Also, no bloody way does one believe Holmes & Bale are the same age! there's a story behind that though. Goyer used a bit of pull to get her cast so he could mack on her...except that's when Mr Scientology first cast his eye on her.
I think both Batman Begins & Blade Trinity's scripts suffered due to Goyer trying to be involved with both at the same time & mack on starlets who marry Alien Worshippers.
Ultimately, don't get me twisted, I dig BB muchly. I just think it had it's flaws & could've been better. Still a 7 or 7.5/10 from me. It's by no means Iron Man. But, Hey What is?! :laff:

Bale's Batman Doesn't Want a Robin
Source: comicbookmovies.com
Says the Batman actor, "If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I'll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work."
That is what Christian Bale told entertainment content provider WENN. I'd have to agree with him. Let's keep batman working alone a little while longer. It all went to pot when they added Robin in the previous franchise. That is when things got corny and ambiguously gay
Riddler Revealed to be Villain in Next Batman Movie!
Gary Oldman, who plays Comissioner Gordon in the latest Batman movies, may have spilled a spoiler about the next villain for the franchise.
Note, director Nolan was sitting right there and seemingly didn't correct Oldman's spillage. So, this may be more than conjecture!
This from MovieWeb.com...
While conducting interviews with the cast of The Dark Knight this afternoon, I got a chance to chat with director Christopher Nolan and Gary Oldman about the proposed third segment of their supposed Batman trilogy... When asked if he thought they should recast Ledger for the third film, or just not include the character, Gary thought it was a good idea...
Oldman then took a moment to think about it some more, "Maybe we don't need the Joker. Because we'll have The Riddler." Yes, Oldman alluded to the fact that The Riddler may in fact be the next on-screen Batman villain.
What of Two-Face you say? Maybe Harvey IS the central villain in the next film, but that doesn't mean they won't set up The Riddler as the headliner for a 4th film by giving him a part in the 3rd. Sounds logical.
Please don't bring back Jim Carrey at the Riddler. He was f'n goof. And no I don't know who I would pick to play him. So far the casting that they have done for the last 2 batman movies has be good. This is how batman should be dark and evil. Not happy go lucky and shits and giggles.
I want to see some detective being born...This is a man who keeps tabs on everybody, and everything...I want to see the Batcomputer and all that other jazzy stuff he uses...I don't know if they'll do that this movie, but I want to see him using the best muscle he has...

Oh yes, you'll see some footwork from Bats. There is a reason the flick is called The Dark Knight {Detective} ;)
With more than a week to go before the highly-anticipated release of "The Dark Knight," Fandango, the nation's leading moviegoer destination, reports that many of its pre-opening Thursday midnight shows on July 17 are already sold out in cities across the country, from New York to Boise, Idaho. Theaters continue to add 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. pre-opening showtimes to meet the ticketing demand.
"'The Dark Knight' may be responsible for a lot of bleary eyes at work next Friday morning," says Rick Butler, Chief Operating Officer for Fandango. "We're seeing a record number of late-night showtimes selling out in advance, while theaters are adding new performances every day."
More than 1,500 late-night showtimes of the movie have been scheduled for the film's pre-opening on Thursday night (Friday morning), July 17-18, at Fandango.com/TheDarkKnight. An online survey of more than 3,000 "The Dark Knight" fans on Fandango.com over the holiday weekend offered the following information on the late-night surge:
* 37% of respondents plan to see the film at least once during one of the late night performances on Thursday night.
* 38% say that they intend to take off a few hours or the entire day from work on Friday as a result of seeing the movie the night before.
* 60% of these moviegoers are male.
* 71% are under the age of 35.
* 39% plan to see the film in IMAX(R).
* 92% expect that the Academy will recognize Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker with a posthumous Oscar(R) nomination next year.
For Fandango, "The Dark Knight" is poised to be the year's top advance ticket-seller in wide release, outpacing "Iron Man," "Indiana Jones 4" and "Sex and the City" at the same point in those films' sales cycles.
i know riddler is a big batman villain, but i dunno if i can get excited to see him in the third film. I hope they at least make a cameo of the penguin (wouldn't want him as a main villain either but still)
