GAWD!! That looks so fufufufufufuckin intense! It really does seem like Heat or a Scorsese film. As for the Penguin I seee Nolin making him more like a Mob Boss than a uy that pulls off bird themed crimes. Riddler...hmmm we shall see.

The one little thing that has me worried about TDK are the Heat comparisons. Yes, there were a couple of good action sequences in it, but Heat was boring & drawn-out as allfuck, so I hope that it's the action sequencs from it that they are referring to. Heat should be renamed as Lukewarm. :laff:

Jig... man, I think our tastes in movies differ a little... which isn't a bad thing. I always enjoying listening to other opinions, but I gotta disagree with ya wholeheartedly on this one. I love Michael Mann. And to me, Heat is his best work. Al Pacino and Robert Deniro going head-to-head in a cops-and-robbers flick? How can you go wrong?

The scene with them in the restaurant sitting across from each and other and just chatting is awesome. And there's enough fleshing out of both characters' personal lives to make you feel for them both. Aside from the great dialogue and portrayals by these two, yeah - the action was incredibly entertaining. The gunfight between the cops and robbers was intense - there was no dramatic music during this scene. Just ear-popping gunplay back and forth, making it seem more real and grounded.

I thought the film really worked as a whole. Probably my favorite cops-and-robbers movie. So I definitely don't mind the comparison. But to each his own. ;)

I've avoided the Prologue and the 12 clips online so far... trying to go into this one as virginal as possible. :)

Yup yup. I think we agree to disagree on certain genres of flicks. though our comic-based shit is very similar. See, that's what I love about AF: motherfuckers here can disagree like adults over taste/viewpoints/opinions w/out slagging the next man. a true rarity for the net.
I love Michael Mann.
CDR! He can never be forgiven for that godawful Miami Vice remake,Heat (subjective) & The Kingdom even though i do dig on Collateral & Manhunter. he's obsessed with putting neon signs & lights in his movies. I bet if he could have, The Last Of The Mohicans would've had neon signs in it.

Oh, believe me - I've seen all the Gotham Tonight clips. And I enjoyed them. I just refuse to watch any (more - seen most of the trailers) footage from the movie. I made that mistake with Spider-Man 2. I watched every clip I could for that one - even watched a music video that showed a certain reveal toward the end of the movie ... and I was like WTF?!! Never again...

Same with me, I think I watched one trailer too many for movies I KNEW I was going to go and see...I've kept the trailer watching for this one to a minimum though...
