Re: The Dark Knight
After a week of lallygagging, I finally made it to see TDK...
Blown away...
As a fan of movies and comics, I must ask, 'What more could you ask for..?'
Ledgers take on the Joker is legendary...May that man rest in peace...Well done, Heath...Well done...
I don't think there is something that could have made the movie better, I honestly don't...I mean it was banging on so many levels..! The action, the underlying psychology of it all...It's not hard for me to see why people that are fans of DC are first and foremost fans of the Batman...I will pay to see this shit on IMAX, please believe...
9.7 of 10...

Fixing up a couple of plot holes to start with.Kumicho wrote:I don't think there is something that could have made the movie better
Are you guys telling me that you didn't notice 2 major plotholes during the fundraiser scene? c'mon!
The film should have ended with:
Joker dangling
Then cut to an Arkham scene with him howling away all straightjacketed in a cell.
Cut to a coin being flipped and Two Face catching it while standing over some bodies.
Cut to credits.
Now that would've been perfect. I get why Nolan used the ending he did in keeping with the themes, but honestly it still felt anti-climactic to me(a small indie flick could've gotten away with it). It wasn't necessary.
I haven't changed my rating in the least, but it falls short of perfection.
I think TDK is a crime flick first & foremost & a Batman flick second.

But that's just it, Jig. Batman is and always was supposed to be a crime flick. While other heroes may strive for the greater good of the world, Batman has sworn an oath to his parents to rid their city of the crime that took their lives.
And as for how the movie ended:

Hahahhahaha. Really though when Bale speaks I'm just like what the fuck? How can someone take him seriously? But at least it's not Johnny Depp's version of Willy Wonka.

If he wasn't such a good actor, I wouldn't be able to either.happywonton wrote:I'm just like what the fuck? How can someone take him seriously?
That was fucking horrendous job. :disappoint:But at least it's not Johnny Depp's version of Willy Wonka.
I dunno I've never had any issue understanding Bale when he does that voice, & yet, a lot of folk I saw it with or talked to about it say they do.I must have ears like a bat. :laff:

Jig, although I respect and understand you opinion on how the film should have ended, I just can't agree with it because that's not what the movie was about at all. I want to address your statement that this film was "a Batman flick second".
Please take no offense Jig. This was purely my opinion and thoughts and would really like to know what you and any others thought of the story and the characters and themes the film presented... or even with the thoughts that I just brought up.

Re: The Dark Knight
Jig, That vid you linked to on youtube about Batman's voice had me cracking up.
Good thing you brought up the plot holes you noticed 'cause a friend of mine told me a problem he noticed in one scene that I couldn't shake off and bothered me the second time I saw the film...
I hope that's one of the two plot holes you're talking about and am interested to know what the other one is (despite the risk of ruining the genius of the film for me, lol).
