Re: The Dark Knight
Oh man I funkin loved it!! I really couldn't find any fault in the movie at all. I thought it really was the pinnacle of all comic book movies and really raised the bar for all movies. It's just unfortunate that the Academy Awards committee turns their noses up to movies like this. I suppose if they were all walking around in tights and doing the nutcracker or breaking out in song they'd consider it but not a chance otherwise. My only complaint was how my ass hurt from sitting so long but that's a good thing (cough cough Hulk cough). Oh and Maggie Gylenhall? BUTTERFACE! I missed Katie..

OK, I'm not the only one that thinks the Maggie girl was HORRIBLY miscast...God bless her, but she just isn't cute, pretty, at all...She's barely a 4 with hollywood behind her back...
I didn't sense any plot holes, myself...I thought that the movie reflected upon itself as a whole, like a metaphor...The way things were played out made sense...None of it seemed rushed, or inaccurate...The Joker wouldn't or shouldn't end up in the nuthouse, as he's simply the opposite of Batman...If he's a good candidate for Arkham, we should put him in the cell next to Bruce...To punctuate what I mean, picture Mark Cuban deciding to put on a bat costume and fight crime...The Joker wasn't crazy...Shit if anything, he was the most sane person in the movie...Clever, cunning, calculating, ruthless...He was always one step ahead until he fell victim to his own words...I tend to agree w/ne0's POV on those points...

Yeah I woulda liked to see Two Face return as well. Thinking they may go daring in the next one with Batman being a fugitive cop killer, the government calls in Deadshot with a side order of Penguin (new mob boss?).

Re: The Dark Knight
Who says he's not coming back? Aaron Eckhart, in a recent Empire Magazine interview, wouldn't comment if he's signed on for a third. My feeling is that if Two-Face is definitely dead, Eckhart wouldn't have any trouble saying no.cs_cdkey4 wrote:Ugly version of Katie Holmes....

And a few other reasons why Two-Face should be back... His "memorial" service showed no casket or body. I don't think it's intended as a funeral - simply Gordon and Batman covering for Harvey while he probably sits in Arkham. Secondly, he fell only a few stories - almost the same height that Batman allowed Sal Maroni to drop. You remember the line, "From this height... the fall wouldn't kill me"? And also, Harvey's coin landed on the good side - now I know the flip was intended for Gordon's son, but Nolan likes to throw in clues here and there... Furthermore, why set up Two-Face in the last act of the movie only to have him die? Lastly, notice that no villain in this series has died without a shred of doubt? Even Ra'as Al Ghul's "death" in Begins can be questioned because he's supposedly immortal.

Re: The Dark Knight
I think it's stretching. They stood over his body and checked his pulse and then had a closed casket (cause of his face) memorial/funeral. Seemed pretty dead to me, and seriously as close as Nolan goes to make these films feel like they could really happen in our reality I think pulling a Scream or Friday the 13th rising from the dead moment would feel phony as hell. I woulda loved to have seen Two-Face again but not now after that ending. Besides if he were still alive they woulda had to charge him with the murders because he was now obviously a danger to himself and society. He needed to be locked up or put in the looney bin at Arkham. I think Batman survived because he had on all his armor. Time to move on to Penguin Riddler or Catwoman. At least that was an awesome portrayal of Two-Face and not that mockery Tommy Lee Jones tried to pull off in BF! :hypno:

Re: The Dark Knight
I agree DL1...Nolan is obviously directing a trilogy, no need for us to keep seeing the same foes, Batman probably has more recognizable foes than any other superhero in history...
Bring on Bane...

YEAH!!! BANE!! Forgot about him! That would be SOOOO Nolan to use him. The Bane story alone could take three movies. He needs redemption after the rasping he took in Batman & Robin. Good call!

Re: The Dark Knight
You guys should listen to this great interview with screenwriter Jonah Nolan on writing TDK. It gives great insight to the story and just gives the film that much more depth.
They also discuss Harvey/Two-Face's fate (whether he died or not) although it's to note that Nolan doesn't really confirm his death and is a little ambiguous about it.
