1. Yup Yup. 2.Not Quite. ;)

Y'know I've been giving a bit of thought to past Batman movies in the lead up to TDK , & it made me realise that Nolan & Co owe a tiny bit of debt to Schumacher's Batman Forever with at least 2 things, 1 aesthetically & one subtextually. The aesthetical one is Batman's use of the cape for gliding/temp flight. Albeit, Begins managed to explain away the technicalities of it. The second one is the dark subplot of repressed memories/fear & the theme on the Duality that is Batman which got lost i think on most due to all the bullshit theatrical Carrey crap & Joel's bright take on Gotham-cum-Tokyo. If you rewatch it, BF actually has quite a high & brutal bodycount thanks to Two Face but is unrealised by audiences & overshadowed & due to the bad crapola. It's shit like that , as well as the fight scenes/choreography in Forever the reason i don't hate/loathe/despise it like i do with it's subsequent folllow-up in Batman & Robin. I do wish Nolan had lifted the cowl design from Forever as the one thing that still disturbs me visually in the current series is that fucking cowl.Especially during brightly lit scenes like Bat's roughing up of Joker in the cop shop.If Bale wasn't a great actor I couldn't take him in that mask seriously.Kilmer's cowl has come the closest to classic Batman lookswise. If they'd combined Bale's armor with Val's cowl,it'd be WOW!

Yeah I'd agree with the look of the Batman uni in BF. Except for the nipples which was....disturbing (Schumacher was letting too much of his own sexual orientation into both Bats movies). But I was watching last week on TV and they had Begins on and up against Forever a few channels down so I was switching back and forth and comparing. I think Kilmer was pretty damn good as BM and the look of the outfit was badass. Begins was superior in story and acting (especially with Jones and Carey...Blechhh) but the Bat look was the best outa all the movies especially when he started adding flouresent colors to the uni in B&R.

Still haven't seen DK so can't compare uni's yet but it looks like a better version than Begins or B&R. At least they never went back to the Adam West look...beer belly and all.

The new cowl in TDK is even worse. check those stills or the movie poster,DL1. Like i said, if it wasn't for Bale's skillz i'd be hard pressed not to cackle myself silly. & yeah, I think Kilmer did a bang up job as Bats.

Y'know it occurred to me after watching Superman again this morning that none of the other comic-based movies have had such an epic nor memorable film score like John Williams created for Supes I & II. Williams even outdoes his Raiders & Star Wars scores. So, as far as best comic book scores go it's:

John Williams - Superman The Movie

& as far as song-based comic soundtracks go, The Crow is it's equal.
