It happens all the time.
You never have a candidate get 100% of their party's support. McCain's 98% is as close as you hope for. I am hoping he is true to the spirit of his speech last night. I still have issues with his experience, but if I have to ignore past experience, last night was powerful demonstration of a radical approach to the classic statesman. The only person who really underperformed was Biden. Warner would have sealed a good vote for Obama. Clinton would have picked up another 5%.
But here now, what of the people who cross party lines?
What about Democrats for McCain, and Republicans for Obama?

These swing votes are VERY important, and yet we see no mention of them in popular media.

Re: Cross Paritisan support?
They've been talking about it a little on CNN from what I've heard, but most of that talk has been shifted to the VP MILF...I thought Biden did OK, but I wonder if he's too seasoned a politician for SP...She's got a bulldog reputation, and I'm pretty sure Joe's got the same reputation...Only thing is that she's new and he's old, in all senses of the words...
