If Barak Obama said something to 'slam' Gov. Palin prior to her VP speech, in all the endless coverage I've watched this past month, I must have missed it...The only thing I remember him saying about good Gov. was that he didn't want to see her family drug though the mud, that they were off limits...He can't control what comes out of the mouths of folk in the media or democratic supporters...I didn't hear him slam her or McCain...I didn't hear Joe Biden slam her either...Still, haven't heard them slam her...So, to suggest that she's somewhat justified in being defensive doesn't make sense about me...I did not hear Barak make any kind of slight towards her until she got on stage and blew up the spot...At that point, as far as I'm concerned, its on...

Now the suited rednecks @ fox are constantly replaying his 'pig' quote out of context.
I was really impressed with how Obama kept his cool with O'Reilly btw. That's talent.

Her husband works for BP. Did you ever see how she got BP to bend over and take it ON HER TERMS? holy shit. http://sigmundcarlandalfred.wordpress.c ... e-warm-up/
totaly Unimpresive.....

Alaska is still taking it in the arse from an oil company.
setting better conditions on how someone is fucking you over....is still being fucked over.
And I can tell you if you think you know ANYTHING about oil, you don't. usually the people upset at oil about 'windfalls' have no friggin clue that it is YOUR 401-k's and mutual funds that are vested in oil, and trade it out to increase value.

i can also tell you things about BIG FRUIT that will make you see BIG OIL as a saint.
Fuck big fruit too lol, being less of an arsehole than someone else still means your an arsehole
and I will happily give up the whole 2 grand I have in super(closest thing to yr 401k) if it will make a difference....
I don't care. I am fine with prostitution. Especially sacred prostitution.
my problem wasn't with the prostitution lol
Oh, and i was so sure that after i posted favorable and impressive records from the city and state she governed
I could post favourable records the chinese govt has had lately....but there still a pack of cunts
Russias economy's been doing quite well too...they must have good leaders?

Gimme a call sometime, Ty. I could tell you some stuff about Obama that would make your head float like I was speaking Hebrew. I am not sure how much is de-classified, but still... I can find out. (and none of it means he is a bad person, or even a Muslim.... I ain't even gotta go that route.)

I also know you, Ty, got people up that way in the Chi-ill, where he had some kind of impact on some stuff. i got people in as well. and some of them are real into politics, if you know what i mean. I respect you might be aware of some good he did, and I would never say that he did no good. I just know you also seen alot more of him on TV than his actual history, and he presents himself well. but he also has, in my opinion clung a little too much to a black American identity that is a core demographic of his party.

raum wrote:She also did not habitually tap money that compares to the almost 1 million dollars per day in Senate that Obama has, which totals over 3 billion.
I haven't found that to be true by any measure...Also, comparing the two states, well...There is no comparison...
He did not get it all, but all the earmarks that he requested or were on bills he co-sponsored were over 3 billion. he himself requested a little less than 1 billion. 740 Million to be exact on the list he PERSONALLY released and challenged Clinton to do the same.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/14/us/po ... paign.html

He was sworn in on Jan 4th, 05. He released this list march 13th, 08.

365 (to jan 4, 06) - 104 (weekends)
365 (to jan 4, 07) - 104 (weekends)
365 (to jan 4, 08) - 12 (weekends - up to march 13th)
27 (Jan 08)
29 (feb 08)
13 (part of march) =

1164 calendar days from release.
944 week days from release (congress generally does not convene on weekends)

ok, 635,738.83 per calendar day. no days excluded.
or, 783,898.31 per week day, if you want work week.

BUT, congress has recess on weekends, and formal recess every year. so, count his work days per year in congress (about 140 or so), and you will see that is a conservative estimate. If you want a real number, let me know. it will easily be at the 1 million mark,, and maybe a bit over.

for the record

McCain critics call him a liar because he said he had none, but they dug and only found in 2006 24 million in John McCain's entire senate career that might be considered earmarked. But one project is was revealed was NOT earmarked, so the 10 million dollar academic center at university of arizona is the only blemish they can find.

Palin is not a senator, and can request funding, but doesn't legislate. Thus she has no congressional authority to grant or request earmarked bills in congress. she could benefit from them, and some projects have. Of note, when cost far exceeded expectations she refused to build the Bridge (to americans who deserve a road) and kept the money that was not yet spent/
Palin wrote:But the state kept the bridge money. That’s because Alaskans pay federal gas taxes and they expect a good share to come back, just like people do in every other state. We build very little by ourselves, and any governor who would turn that tax money down likely would be turned out of office.
Biden won't say nothing about earmarks, but something should be done. He refuses to release his own earmarks. Just like Clinton. prolly cause they are allergic to prison.
Under Palin's leadership, Alaska this year asked for almost $300 per person in requests for pet projects from one of McCain's top adversaries: indicted Sen. Ted Stevens. That's more than any other state received, per person, from Congress for the current budget year. Other states got just $34 worth of local projects per person this year, on average, according to Citizens Against Government Waste, a Washington-based watchdog group. The state government's earmark requests to Congress in her first year in office exceeded $550 million, more than $800 per resident. Palin actually reduced the state government's requests for special projects this year in the wake of President Bush's demand for a cutback in earmarks.
but that is hardly fair! alaska has always had a high per capita request, because the missile defense, strategic resources, the ANWR wildlife refuges, and the natives... not to mention ALOT of things states request are cheap in bulk.

earmarks are a fact of every state. plain and simple, if you ever wrote your congressman for "action" and he responded, it was earmarked. here is a map.
http://ctchnedge01.ap.org/specials/inte ... _earmarks/

Did you notice that if you look at this list, the more sparsely poulated the state, the higher the earmarks, in general? Alaska is TWICE the size of Texas. You don't think there is some upkeep involved? The issue is not all earmark is BAD earmark. That is why the president needs line by line veto, with a counter balance for any bill not approved in its entirety.
Yeah, but my mortgage is my mortgage...I don't have to take one out if I don't want to...I can pay rent or live with my mom...If you're saying the people of Wasilla are generally pleased or obligated to be in debt, functioning though it may be, I'd agree...Otherwise, she's bragging about her state's surplus...That's not keeping it real...
She was not the only person who wanted the stadium. and it is no longer in the red. it's profitable, and her budgeting was extremely astute, and still it out preformed expectations when the locals voted in a 1/2 percent sales tax to get the accounts out of the liability.
raum wrote:People who don't like her and the people who were afraid of growth and change.
Never said I didn't like her Homez...I met Sarah Palin flinging shit on national television like most other people...Just like I'd do in any other instance, I'm weary to people that talk shit about others w/o talking shit about themselves...So far, I've garnered that she's a skillful politician...I'm reserving my final opinion until when the smoke has cleared what's left of her...What I know about Obama has nothing to do with voting records, senate tracks, or anything of the sort...I can't help that all I know about SP this far is what she's given the public...[/quote]

she was on TV for years before this. you are new to her. i get that. I checked her out a bit when Ron Paul nodded at her.

BTW: Ron Paul publicly offers all his earmarks in formal stationary.

Seen a little of the good Gov. on TV right before she got named, touting Barak as awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO6dmBm1SFw

Then, of course, as we all know, decided to say phuk it, and then slam him...

Again, I'm not saying Barak is a saint...He's a politician...I can't stress the fact enough that I think all politicians are dipped in shit, one way or the other...That's just the truth of the matter...Barak invited the late great Bernie Mac to a function to do his thing, and then said something to the effect of "He needs to clean up his act"...I think that blows big time...I'm not disillusioned, not at all...

But he carries himself like a gentleman...He's intelligent, well spoken, and has excellent leadership qualities...Do I think an Obama administration would be the greatest thing ever..? No, of course not...That's unrealistic...The brother went to and graduated from Harvard...And despite any circumstances surrounding him, he went to work on the South Side of Chicago, where I was born and raised and return to usually once a year...That says something about him that's bigger than his record in congress...The republicans have stooped to unprecedented lows to try and downgrade the man and he's pretty much just turned the other cheek...That takes something in a man that I am not ashamed to say I do not have in myself...I catch somebody talking shit about me they will have to answer to it, period...He's admirable...I'm no saint, if I were to run for political office right now, somebody would be up on TV right now calling me a bootlegger and porn hound...It's easy to talk shit about someone Homez, and because I can understand that, is why I'm paying attention to this election...Barak Obama came to my hometown, or well a place 20 mins away...Everyone in my house went...I was at home eating Cashews and watching the game...Trust me when I say, I'm not shaft stroking...The dude has gained my respect...

Remains to be seen in the case of Palin and McCain, they simply continue to disappoint...

DUDE! Seriously, recognize. They clipped her first! for a woman politician that is deadly...

His Official Spokesman (Bill Burton) ON THE RECORD FOR HIS CAMPAIGN said this the friday the weekend before the RNC began.
"John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency,"
That is a friggin insult and completely disrespects her CURRENT EXCUTIVE POSITION. And OBAMA's spokesman SPEAKS for OBAMA.. It was a cheap shot to make McCain appear like he could die in "a hearbeat" and to ignore the fact that Palin was a high seated senior political executive with a 9 billion dollar budget and a staff of 25,000.

that bit hard and the polls bounced(which cause a re-write of her speech to address the issue of her competency and ability to take a punch and throw out two). But ever the let other people talk for him and sling his shit and roses alike; another spokesperson of Obama's said this:
"It is yet another encouraging sign that old barriers are falling in our politics," the Dem pair said. "While we obviously have differences over how best to lead this country forward, Gov. Palin is an admirable person and will add a compelling new voice to this campaign."
nice. so now, you have totally wishwashed on her competency, and given her a mic. what do you expect from a woman scorned? Obama is eloquent but he is punching through cronies and has been since Hillary and Biden tried to knock him out.

He might be a pimp with a entourage to do his dirty work, but it is getting done.

I agree with Raum there, for me some of the dumbass reactions that have come out of the O'bama camp have been lower than what they are responding to, and thats pretty low....

Just like McCain's campain guy, Tucker whatever, came on TV arguing with Campbell Brown about how the Governor of Alaska makes military decisions about how to equip and deploy soldiers...When he realized that he was in error, all he kept doing was trying to talk shit about Obama...Campbell asked him repeatedly, 'Name one thing she did, one decision she made' and all he did was talk shit about Obama...Judge McCain by this..? I did not...

See, this is why I don't like to talk politics, points are almost always lost...
raum wrote:It was a cheap shot to make McCain appear like he could die in "a hearbeat"
#1. McCain is 72 years old...Lets not pretend that he's a shining picture of vitality...Any rational person would assume there is a possibility he may not make it his entire time, like anyone...Dude has had a hard life man, and made it through a ton of shit, could anybody blame him if he decided to say fuck it and check out..?
raum wrote:...and to ignore the fact that Palin was a high seated senior political executive with a 9 billion dollar budget and a staff of 25,000.
Not ignore, but how relevant is it to this whole thing..? Wasn't Dubya the Governor of a much more diverse and heavily populated state named Texas..? Unless that position has a proven track record of yielding favorable results for constituents, to be frank, who cares..? Does the fact that she had a budget and staff really say anything..? Her being able to balance a budget with 8 0's makes her special..? Does the fact that I run a small hosting service mean that I would fail miserably if I were to become a larger host..? None of that matters...Not to me anyway...The fact that I run a small site is not an indication of ability or lack thereof, its a preference...Unless someone feels Barak can graduate Harvard and not know how to add, subtract, and work with others, I'm not sure why that is being brought up...
