Truth Will Out: Sarah Palin.

I am never saying that the woman is perfect, but this is deliberate political sabatogue.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008 ... 641&page=1

Here is the full transcript of the Charlie Gibson interview. Look at what they cut out, and see how they specifically made anything she said that was competent brief and vague:

example:

On TV:
Governor Palin edit said wrote:We have got to make sure that these weapons of mass destruction, that nuclear weapons are not given to those hands of Ahmadinejad, not that he would use them, but that he would allow terrorists to be able to use them. So we have got to put the pressure on Iran and we have got to count on our allies to help us.
WHAT SHE ACTUALLY SAID:
Sarah Palin Actually Said wrote:: We have got to make sure that these weapons of mass destruction, that nuclear weapons are not given to those hands of Ahmadinejad, not that he would use them, but that he would allow terrorists to be able to use them. So we have got to put the pressure on Iran and we have got to count on our allies to help us, diplomatic pressure.
Another case:

Sarah Palin on God:
GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, “Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God.” Are we fighting a holy war?

PALIN: You know, I don’t know if that was my exact quote.

GIBSON: Exact words.

PALIN: But the reference there is a repeat of Abraham Lincoln’s words when he said — first, he suggested never presume to know what God’s will is, and I would never presume to know God’s will or to speak God’s words.

But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that’s a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God’s side.

That’s what that comment was all about, Charlie. And I do believe, though, that this war against extreme Islamic terrorists is the right thing. It’s an unfortunate thing, because war is hell and I hate war, and, Charlie, today is the day that I send my first born, my son, my teenage son overseas with his Stryker brigade, 4,000 other wonderful American men and women, to fight for our country, for democracy, for our freedoms.

Charlie, those are freedoms that too many of us just take for granted. I hate war and I want to see war ended. We end war when we see victory, and we do see victory in sight in Iraq.

GIBSON: I take your point about Lincoln’s words, but you went on and said, “There is a plan and it is God’s plan.”

PALIN: I believe that there is a plan for this world and that plan for this world is for good. I believe that there is great hope and great potential for every country to be able to live and be protected with inalienable rights that I believe are God-given, Charlie, and I believe that those are the rights to life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

That, in my world view, is a grand — the grand plan.

And another:
GIBSON: Have you ever met a foreign head of state?

PALIN: There in the state of Alaska, our international trade activities bring in many leaders of other countries.

GIBSON: And all governors deal with trade delegations.

PALIN: Right.

GIBSON: Who act at the behest of their governments.

PALIN: Right, right.

GIBSON: I’m talking about somebody who’s a head of state, who can negotiate for that country. Ever met one?

PALIN: I have not and I think if you go back in history and if you ask that question of many vice presidents, they may have the same answer that I just gave you. But, Charlie, again, we’ve got to remember what the desire is in this nation at this time. It is for no more politics as usual and somebody’s big, fat resume maybe that shows decades and decades in that Washington establishment, where, yes, they’ve had opportunities to meet heads of state … these last couple of weeks … it has been overwhelming to me that confirmation of the message that Americans are getting sick and tired of that self-dealing and kind of that closed door, good old boy network that has been the Washington elite.
This is why she seems alot more on point in LIVE speaking.

I am looking for the transcript of the Couric nterview as well. In particular, I know editing is required, but this was devastating to a woman who has so much to prove, and the portrayed her as a eager warmonger hungry for the throne with no strength to bear the scepter. I bet if you look, the person who edited this interview is an Obama supporter. That was uncalled for.

The Couric transcript was edited HEAVILY :

Look at this plea for moderation and recognition totally taken out:
(5:39) Couric: But what lessons do you think you have learned as you’ve watched this unfold in terms of implementing the democracy and the challenges inherent in that goal?

Palin: Well, one is that America cannot be counted on to do this solely, to be the savior of every other nation, but we need friends and we need allies and we need this nation-building effort and we need to forge new alliances, and that is what a new election will provide opportunity to do.

Couric: What happened if the goal of democracy, Governor Palin, doesn’t produce the desired outcome, for example in Gaza, the US pushed hard for elections and Hamas won.

Palin: Especially in that region, though, we have got to protect those and support those who do seek democracy and do seek protections for the people who live there. And you know, we’re seeing today, in the last couple of days here in New York, a speaker, a President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, who would come on our soil and express such disdain for one of our closest allies and friends—Israel—and we’re hearing the evil that he speaks. And if hearing him doesn’t allow Americans to commit more solidly to protecting the friends and allies that we need, expecially there in the Mideast, then nothing will.

If Americans are not waking up to understand what it is that he represents, then nothing is going to wake us up and we will be lulled into some kind of false sense of security that perhaps Americans were a part of before 9/11.(7:25)
But, no, it isjust more fun to think she is golly-gee-willikers ditzy because she has a exhuberance and playful sprit. This is mysogyny.

I don't think she's ditzy. Just dangerous. Her apparent blind belief in what her handlers tell her scares me.

Yah she is still green - I LOVE her reaction to McCain's pulling out of Michigan. It, to me, shows her sincerity. I think that Ron Paul would have been a better influence, but I think she will still turn out ok, if she makes Veep.

she was disappointed. she felt like her and todd could go in and speak to the people of michigan, and at least try... she seemed kind of shocked that he gave up.

more like his campaign advisors told him to focus on other swing states, but still...

McCain is Sarah's biggest problem...All things aside, she is clearly more popular than him...Maybe this is good for her political career some kind of way...When McCain goes to speak by himself...300 people show up...When Sarah's there, it's probably 10x's as much...

She's green, and not savvy enough to be that close to being the president...Even if they edited out parts of the interview, it would not be enough to sway the general opinion of her beyond what it already is...They don't help help...My biggest issue with her is that she talks TOO folksy, and isn't sharp enough on the issues..."We're gonna shake up Washington" and "we're a team of mavericks," that don't mean anything to me...She's green, everyone knows she's green, so on these tough questions designed for someone who has a better grasp of the situation and material, we know she's essentially bullshitting...Even in the cited example:

What happened if the goal of democracy, Governor Palin, doesn’t produce the desired outcome, for example in Gaza, the US pushed hard for elections and Hamas won.

She didn't answer the question...Her technique is like holding and grabbing, and then pushing off on the break up in a boxing match...Fillibuster and change the subject...She does that too often...

Gotta agree there. She prefers maintaining a holding pattern then distraction when it comes to the hard questions.
