File cataloging software?

Just keen to see what you guys use to catalogue CD/DVD/Hard drive files to make stuff easy to find.

I have been using an old version of this already old program: http://www.disk-catalog.com/

The only think I used is what is surely a dated version of DirectoryLister to save what files I plan to burn to disc in HTML format...If there is something more effective out there, I'd love to try it, but so far, so good...

I'm trying to find something cross platform that I can use to find stuff in a pinch.
