Re: Anyone into astronomy?
I grew up in astronomy, and surveying was a family trade. In rural louisiana, it was easy. Bike out to the levee, set up scope and camp. I miss it alot some times. I was blessed to be at sea and will never regret getting caught once out at darken ships, for the hundreds of times I was never caught. DAMN.
Then, to the bay area, too much fog, too much light.
I still follow some developments, and can go out rural Pennsylvania to see stars, but not the same... never will be the same as at sea on those nights where the stars seemed within arms reach.

Did anyone see last night's beautiful crescent moon flanked by Venus and Jupiter? I saw them on my way home, but it was raining so I didn't get the scope out.

The heavens-above website (http://www.heavens-above.com/) shows you when and where to look for satellites in the sky. Have you ever seen a star that moves across the sky slowly? That is a satellite.
