I've tried various brands of beer all over the world. I prefer dark ales (Guinness), and tend to avoid beer with excessive amounts of preservatives (Bud, Coors....American beer in general). I can enjoy almost any beer, but lately, I am a huge fan of this stuff:

If you're ever near Niagara Falls, zip across into Canada (if you aren't there already lol) and visit this brewery. Amazing beer, and the people who run the place are about as friendly and down-to-Earth as you can get.

The best beer I've ever had (though it'd probably be more properly termed a Malt liquor) was one I brewed myself using Caramel Malt and wildwood honey as the fermentables, Cascade hops, and Champagne yeast. 2 weeks later it was so smooth but had an 18% alcohol content. Knocked me on my ass!

Grolsch (Netherlands). By far the best.

Only if you are in Europe/Africa (maybe other places...those are the only 2 I have had un-altered Grolsch). Despite their claims, the import Grolsch in North America is loaded with preservatives, and it shows.
